“Folks, the Gen 5 Viper was the epitome of everything great with cars. Manual transmission, rear wheel drive, hydraulic steering, and beautiful art inside and out with modern day technology. They will never make cars like this again and nothing made right now even matches the visceral feel of this. When you have mass produced 911s going for 200-500k, it’s amazing that this is not going for more than 500k. Those cars are so boring compared to this!”

“My first car was a 73 4 door custom. White with black vinyl roof and bondo fenders my Dad did with chicken wire. Slant 6 with an FM converter added that also picked up TV stations. Also had a 70 340 Swinger in HEMI orange for a few years. I have a soft spot for 70’s Darts. GLWTA!”

So while we were setting up Rally 1
Mike Z who ran the Saleen shop floor set up a red door complete with gurney bubble on a small dolly door stand. For display and option for people coming to have your door converted.
Of course vin 1314 / signature car owner / Me wanted it that day to swap on my red car for the event!
The door was display only because it was a blemish / defect door and not complete , hence the parts missing on this door!
I think Bony had the first bubble after Gurney…”

People obviously differ regarding what they want from a car, but for me, it really doesn’t get much better than this among modern cars. “That Sport Top is an incredibly rare accessory. Not many were sold and few have survived in good condition. I’ve only seen one other intact one. The Model Prefix indicates it was built as a Utility trimmed Travel Top but somewhere along the line, the bulkhead and Sport Top were added. I wonder if it was the original owner. Interesting 800!”
