“I would have seen this car take pole Vancouver Indy. Never missed a day of Indy CART when we had the series in Vancouver. What experiences! Those of us that are hardcore racing fans should count ourselves lucky to see have these cars run. I fear for open wheel racing with the growth of hybrid/EV. You just cannot substitute internal combustion and the screaming revs , the smells, the vibrations deep in your chest .
Magnificent car, this example. And the absolute top of the heap for its…”

His father was Gilles, was one of the most electrifying F1 drivers ever. 1982 R.I.P.”

I did not drive an Emira with the sport suspension but from what I hear it is still very streetable. I have a friend with an Emira so far the only repairs are software updates.”

“Cars are not merely tools that transport us from one point to another, but they also act as companions on life’s journey. They’re present during our joyous adventures, supportive during melancholy journeys, and a symbol of triumph in our victories. They reflect our personal stories, embody our dreams, and even color our memories. They are “like rolling diaries,” chronicling the story of our lives through every dent, scratch, and modification.”

“This is what the first-gen Celica liftback was meant to be. We got what was spec’ed for US market, same chassis but with the big 5mph bumpers and a much lower-performance engine. The 20R is great for a truck, but 100 hp at 4800 rpm isn’t as much fun as an 18R-G140 hp at 6500 rpm in a sub-2500 lb car.

Were the dash and console panels painted gray? I believe all the RA29s had woodgrain vinyl stickers, which harked back to the 2000GT’s beautiful woodwork, but perhaps that was also…”

“Back in the year 2001, I had this long-held notion I’d own a BMW 2002 in the YEAR 2002. So, obviously I began my search too early and found one far too quickly. So, In the dead of Winter, I rented a car and drove from Michigan to Washington DC and bought an Inka 1973 2002tii with sunroof. I drove it home, missing the blizzard in Pennsyvanis by a half day.
A few years later, in 2005, when I moved to the West Coast I drove it to from Michigan, covering 5000 miles within a month — crossing…”

“Awesome! Thanks @cbjeep and team for saving it, but not overdoing it. I really appreciate the BaT community’s comments throughout this auction; they really helped me form a more fulsome picture of the car. The debate on condition is always entertaining, and really a personal preference thing. To me, this is as cool as it gets: a (nearly) guilt-free driver with character that’s impossible to replicate. It will look great next to Freiburger’s Disgustang!”

But John had a dream and I did for him. Have pictures of me doing car. Great comment tempting to want in my shop again. Would love to talk to John but believe he has passed. Maybe talk to mercuryKG7H some time. So blessed I had my hands in a beautiful fine Ferrari. Frogman.”

“in all this auction excitement, I’ve devoted a certain amount of my morning coffee time searching the internet for my own Ferrari 288 GTO – a number of which are thankfully within my price range, including Walmart, for about $100.
However, due to their scaled down 1:18 size and non-running status, it’s unlikely I’ll be driving it anywhere other than “my imagination” during this lifetime.
    Perhaps my NEXT lifetime.”

This car is a statement piece and one of the true great American muscle cars.”
