The Carefully Curated Collection: Group 1, from Nostalgic Motoring Ltd. You Should Know
The Carefully Curated Collection is the fruit of four decades of collecting for the owner, a sometime concours judge who specialized in paint and bodywork during his professional career. The cars reflect his diverse tastes and include sports cars, GTs, and even prewar classics, all of American, British, and European manufacture. He states that drivability is of paramount importance to enjoying his collection—something we can get behind—and we’re looking forward to seeing videos of these automobiles in action. The collection will be presented in multiple groups by @plasticdr of Nostalgic Motoring Ltd., and the first auctions from Group 1 are now live on the site. Additional lots will be added shortly.

Maserati’s Tipo 101 enjoyed a seven-year run, persisting even after the introduction of the Sebring and Mistral models. The handsome GT featured an aluminum body of superleggera construction by Carrozeria Touring, and its sonorous 3.5-liter inline-six first received Lucas fuel injection in 1960. This car is a late-production example that has been in the owner’s possession for 16 years, during which it received cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment including a 2015 repaint. A fuel injection service and other maintenance was performed in February 2026.
Bertone’s wedge-shaped 2+2 Dino was polarizing when it was introduced, but you can count us as fans—especially when finished in the two-tone “Boxer” paint scheme like this example. The car was at one point owned by former Autoweek publisher Richard Hinson and remains in Michigan, where it has been brought into the collection twice over the last two decades. Features include a black and red interior, tucked bumpers, and of course a Weber-fed four-cam V8 and a five-speed manual transaxle operated with the famous gated shifter. Annual maintenance was completed in 2025, which included replacement of crossover pipe hoses as well as an oil change and brake fluid flush.
Allow us to generalize: American cars of the 1950s and ’60s wear the monochromatic look particularly well. That’s certainly the case for this ’57 T-bird, dressed like a perpetual bride in white over white. A 2010 refurbishment included a rebuild of the 245-horse D-code 312ci Y-block V8 and three-speed Fordomatic transmission. This Bird has been in the owner’s collection since 2019 and received paint protection film, a fresh pinion seal, and a new fuel pump while in his care.
The Mark 1A Tiger was based on the Series V Sunbeam Alpine, and varies in a few minor but noticeable ways from the first of the Shelby-developed V8 roadsters. The Ford 260ci V8 was a tight fit in the Tiger, and the price came in around $1,000 more than Ford’s own Mustang, with a small chunk of the premium going straight into Carroll Shelby’s pocket. But that’s all in the past. This car was repainted in its current blue in 2007, and was acquired by the owner shortly thereafter. It currently rides on 14″ Minilites, but a set of 13″ steelies will be included with the sale.
High times! The 327/350 L79 engine was the highest-rated small block available for the 1967 Corvette. The high-revving V8 combined high-compression pistons and a high-lift cam with hydraulic lifters, making it a powerful but ultimately streetable motor that still enjoys generous parts support. Accordingly, this car carries a combination of racy components (like side pipes) with more user-friendly features like power steering and five-lug wheels. The blue vinyl interior appears almost an exact match to the Marina Blue body, which has been partially refinished over the years.
