“Thank you all. We reached a fair deal, and I am super excited to be the 2nd owner of this masterpiece. It will be driven much more than it has been over the past 47 years. Will be sitting next to its cousin, my ’73 CSL. Mario (VSR), get some room ready…!!! Thank you, Brian, for working on this deal with me. It will be in good hands for a while! Best to all. David”

“I thought that someday the “Krispy Kritter” would end up here on BaT! I was born in October of 1966 and have known this car practically my whole life. My dad was a lifelong car guy and friends of the builders/owners Ted Trischler and Frank Dennler and was there the first time they fired up the Kritter! What is ironic that people mention it reminds them of the Batmobile from the rear is that the car was actually built in a cave (Batcave) of the hillside section of Spring Garden that is located…”

“For general information only: The “green things” on most Citroëns of this era all relate to the hydraulic system. Green indicates LHM (mineral oil) fluid vs older red (brake fluid) systems. The SM has 6 green things visible under the hood. From left to right you have; Passanger’s front suspension sphere (acts like a shock absorber and allows different ride heights), In the center – Hydraulic main pump, Main pressure sphere (which controls five levels of ride height, brakes, steering, clutch…”

“I went through the police academy in one of these back in 1997. No Crown Vic could out run or out maneuver this car when we played cops and robbers on the obstacle course. It was hands down a superior car in terms of handling and horsepower. Every time I see one I’m taken back to the driving portion of the academy. Fond memories.”

Made many a stop at Wisconsin Dells and remember it just as you describe! Sincere condolences on the passing of your mother (and untimely/early passage of your father). It reminded me this morning to cherish whatever time I have left with the Beehive. Have a blast with the Honda – another wonderful memory machine for me – and…”

“My dad also has a Judson in his ’56 lowlight and got me hooked on 36hps. I currently have an Okrasa and just pulled a ’58 T2 36hp out of my Brasilia science project. I see at one point in picture 507 this Ghia had an Okrasa setup. I would have loved to talk to the owner/builder and hear their feedback on the differences. Does the motor still have the Okrasa 69.5 crank or upgraded (356/custom) camshaft with the Judson setup? Does it by chance have a the uber rare “high compression” domed VW…”

Top down, rowing your own gears, flat-six at 9k RPM echoing off the cliffs… it turns every mile into an event. What a great Porsche. Here’s to the next owner racking up the miles on it.”

“Ah, the memories. Throwing those doors open to exit on a timed response only to have them not latch and come back on your hand, head, legs. Failing to latch the turret and spinning around on corners… enough to make you nauseous. Or backing in to the ATF with the M-60 not latched in the neutral position and bending the barrel (this actually happened). Maybe catching your boot on the door opening ledge and face planting. No one who rode in one doesn’t have an opinion on them.”

That said, they are such iconically cool cars. The grey/white background with the stainless foreground is just chef’s kiss photography. Calendar worthy shots aplenty in this gallery.
Best of luck with the sale! In keeping with the unspoken rules of quoting BTTF on all of these auctions, I’ll just paraphrase Doc Brown. “When this auction gets underway, you’re going to see some…”

He owned several bars in town and had a gorgeous 50’s Corvette in one of them, Classic 50’s Diner. I am guessing these are either donors or projects he ran out of time for. One’s demise will do that to you.”

That is exactly what you will get with this all new for 1957 Plymouth. 3 full years ahead of the competition. Just look at that styling. Gaze upon the majesty of color. Delight in the lines that none can imitate. You get more car, for less money.
