BaT Auction Success Story: GMC Pickup is a Winter Win for Summer Nights
BaT member TreeHD picked up this 1955 GMC 150 pickup that he won from Drager54 in a December 2025 BaT auction:
I won this 1955 GMC 100 pickup truck back on December 31, 2025, and I couldn’t have been more pleased with the whole process. I had been looking for a mid-1950s to early 1960s Chevy or GMC truck or panel van for quite some time. I looked on eBay and Facebook Marketplace, but was disappointed with the whole process. Finally, I looked on BaT and followed several auctions, checking in on the models I was interested in and their hammer price. I liked the buyer interaction along with all the fellas who added their endless wealth of information.
Unfortunately, I lost out on a few trucks and panel vans that I was interested in, but I didn’t get discouraged because I knew the right one would come along. Well, one did finally come along. It was within my price range, and I placed the winning bid. This beautiful ’55 GMC 100 was mine, finally.
The seller contacted me, and we worked out the transaction. They also assisted me with a transportation broker, and the truck arrived about three weeks after the auction closed. It was such an easy and pleasant process. I knew that I was buying a quality vehicle based on the multitude of pictures and videos, along with the discussions in the comment section. I’ve totally been recommending Bring a Trailer since then. My buddy at church even sold his ’63 Riviera on BaT—he couldn’t have been more pleased, as well.
All winter, I was waiting for the weather to warm up and the rain to wash the salt off the roads because I couldn’t wait to make this truck mine by doin’ a few things to it before cruisin’ all summer. I not only bought a truck, but something to make memories with my two new grandsons before passing it down to them someday. Thanks, BaT—it’s been a pleasure doin’ business with ya.
