Back in 1995, the late Ferndale resident Nelson House helped create what would become “North America’s largest one-day automotive event”—the Woodward Dream Cruise, a seemingly endless stream of American car culture parading along Motown’s legendary Woodward Avenue. A BaT crew will be there for this year’s happening, which will take place this coming Saturday, August 15.
Perennial favorite George Levy introduces his new book, Motorsports Mavericks, with photos by Pete Biro. He talks about the racing personalities of the ’60s, being “someplace else” as a photographer, human connection in motorsports, shooting inches from cars at speed, pulling the tablecloth trick on Bruce McLaren, and the humanity of Dan Gurney.
During Car Week, it is easy to come to the conclusion that all of the interesting cars in the world are concentrated in Monterey, California. Well, we’re here to remind you that the world is a big place, and in fact many of the more interesting vehicles one might encounter are here on this very website. This is the Weekly Weird & Wonderful—our collection of the strangest, coolest, and most interesting cars to appear on BaT in the last seven days.

We thought it’d be hard to match last year for the sheer thrill of being around thousands of fellow fans and hundreds of great cars at one of the most festive automotive events in the USA, but 2026 managed to deliver.
Few people are more qualified to cover the Greenwich Concours than roving BaT contributor @kobus, who has been attending the event every year for quite some time, and even served as the official photographer a few years back. He’s been keeping a busy racing schedule this summer but was still able to make time for this year’s show, and brought back his reflections on the event along with a wonderful collection of images. 8/19 Update: nearly all of the cars from the massive DFW Toy and Museum Collection have gone live, many have already sold, and the seller has now added three more! Be on the lookout for a 1964 Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider, 1982 HMV FreeWay project car, and a 1961 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupe, which should post soon.
The DFW Car and Toy Museum is the largest of its kind in Texas, and being the largest anything in Texas is really saying something. Indeed, within their 150,000-square-foot facility, they host a collection of more than 200 cars and 3,000 toys. That said, everyone has their limits, and owner Ron Sturgeon has set a 200-car cap—notable because his museum has won 214 BaT auctions to date. To clear up some space in their ever-rotating lineup, the museum is now presenting this massive collection of 38 cars (and counting) on Bring a Trailer, most of which are BaT Alumni and all of which are being offered with no reserve!

Our very own Howard Swig grew up in a family famous for automotive enthusiasm, and in his 10+ years at BaT he has been instrumental in building this site into what it has become today. His late father Martin was the San Francisco franchise dealer for at least 17 different marques, keeping up a vast inventory of interesting vehicles with a heavy focus on imports like Alfas, Datsuns, Saabs, Toyotas, Mercedes trucks, Sterlings, and more. He later went on to found the California Mille, inspired by his participation in the 1982 Mille Miglia Storica as the sole American entrant. His acquisitions of several interesting racing and sports cars formed the backbone of a collection that continues to be kept and enjoyed by the rest of the Swig family. Today, we’re excited to announce that six cars from the Swig Family Collection will be represented here by @FantasyJunction, out of Emeryville, California, and many will be offered with no reserve.
It was a battle of the longroofs for the seventh installment of our 2026 Michelin and BFGoodrich tire giveaway, with well over 120 of you casting your vote! The competition turned into a nail-biter between the 1982 AMC Eagle wagon and the 1971 Volkswagen Type 3 Squareback, and in the end, the Squareback came out on top by two! Congratulations to its new owner, @Schertzer.
