Here’s event Coverage: Delaware BaT Meet-Up May 16 with McQueen Classics

That’s another BaT Meet-Up in the books for 2026, folks. Last Saturday was fantastic, and we can’t thank Local Partner McQueen Classics enough for the invite and the consistent support, organization, and good vibes.
Pete Guida, his staff, and his family pulled out all the stops to make this a Saturday to remember, even somehow coercing the weather gods into a sunny gem of a May morning. We could not have asked for a heartier welcome, and their brace of hotted-up 4x4s and muscle cars (not least a newly arrived Shelby GT500) made for a great backdrop.
What started out seeming like plenty of space was soon filled by the unique array of vehicles that people have come to expect at a BaT event. An entire Corvette club was joined by T-series MGs, woodie wagons, drag trucks, classic Mercedes wagons, beach buggies of all kinds, and prewar cruisers.
Highlights for our team included quite possibly the best East Coast-style hot rod we’ve ever seen, brought out by its builder Cody Walls (261 Stovebolt with a Wayne 12-port head, beautiful two-tone interior, sublime multi-hued blue pearl paint, perfect chrome all over, little custom touches everywhere) as well as a pinstriped and patinated Range Rover Classic, a 1980s Maine state patrol car, a liveried-up Matador, a Pierce Arrow, and purportedly the only Yenko Stinger convertible.
There was food and drink, there was music, there was a giant TV screen showing BaT auctions as they happened, and there were good conversation and free giveaways to be had under the BaT tent.
Every event is far more than just a car show for us; it’s an opportunity to meet the great people in this community we’ve been lucky enough to cultivate, which is a huge part of what makes BaT so different and special. To that end, we’d like to devote some extra space to those who won our three Tire Giveaways, made possible by our partnership with Michelin and BFGoodrich, at this event. This time around, our staffers felt particularly honored to give back to those that make it possible for us to do what we do:
Keegan, 1969 Ford Mustang
The Mustang belonged to this young enthusiast’s grandfather, who gifted it to him after a retirement move to Florida. Keegan does all his own work and restored the Mustang to his ideal spec; the only thing he was missing by the time he drove it to the Meet-Up was a new set of tires, as the current ones were well overdue for replacement at 14 years old. Primarily a VW enthusiast, he otherwise spends his time rebuilding carbs, getting friends’ projects back on the road, and being glued to BaT.
Merle, 1990 Chevy Blazer
Merle traded his old farm truck for this Blazer a few years back, and has been working to honor its remarkable condition with over 300k miles! He’s already refinished the bed cap, some of the chrome, and the wheels, but hadn’t gotten around to replacing the very dry-rotted and old Michelins. We thought the K5 would look great with a brand new set of BFGs, and Merle agreed after double checking that he could get them with raised white lettering (as is only right and natural).
Ed, 1985 Buick Riviera T-Type Convertible
@NoMoreRoom is a devoted BaT fan, buyer, and seller who has joined us at three different BaT Meet-ups—at opposite ends of the country, no less! Meeting Ed again in Delaware was inspiring, as he told us that he’s recently come out on the other side from years of severe illness and feels that positive things have been happening for him ever since. He had incredible things to say about BaT, the community it has given him, and the distraction it has provided from the difficulties of treatment. Ed worked in the automotive industry for most of his career, including as an engineer at Buick when the very car he brought out (a turbocharged Riviera convertible, rare as a Texas snowstorm in July) was in development.

We’re excited to bring our crew out to the Mid-Atlantic for our next BaT Meet-Up, this time hosted by BaT power seller and Local Partner McQueen Classics. The event will take place at their facility nestled in the small historical coastal town of Lewes, Delaware, on May 16, from 9:00am to 1:00pm—it’s free to attend and should be a great one!
It seems like there’s always something happening over at McQueen Classics. On top of listing a variety of automobiles on BaT, mcqueens also offers a wide range of services from mechanical work to full-on custom builds. As part of this Meet-Up, attendees will be able to browse through their facility and see what’s going on, along with taking in the sights and sounds of hundreds of cars, trucks, bikes, and who knows what else brought out by the BaT community.
This will be a casual affair—no registration is required, so just show up, bring a cool vehicle if you have one, and shoot the breeze with hundreds of fellow BaT community members and staff. We’ll be there to welcome you with complimentary refreshments and merch, while supplies last.
We should have plenty of space, but these gatherings do get popular—so please note that parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. We look forward to seeing you there!
