“I made a comment on this auction before an epic 10 day trip to Italy. I’m back. The auction is still going!
I was in northern Italy (Milan and Lake Como) and guess how many Ferraris I saw?
One. One solitary 296… in ten days.
My son: “Dad, where are all the Ferraris?”
Me: “In the USA.””23

“Mezger engine block was literally built to be wailed on at redline for 24 hrs straight, it’s nearly impossible to destroy it, you have to be intentionally holding it past redline for probably 1 hr+.
Reminds me of the old cash for clunkers video where they emptied the oil pan on an 80 series landcruiser, put it in neutral, and floored it. It took like 20+ mins at past redline for the engine to give out with no lubrication.”13

“I have and would drive any 200 cross country. Bring a couple spanners 10mm 13 mm pop into advance grab some coolant and oil, bring an extra thermostat and you should be good to go.
If coming west stay off 80 at night when rainy lol. 200’s are the best when on point.”10

“GM Design department was on fire in the mid sixties. Everything from the Buick Riviera, and the second gen Corvair, to the Corvette Stingray and these 66+67 Chevelles. They look as good today, as when they were new in the showroom.”

Strong hulls from that era.
The V-Drive is far superior to the stern drive version too. C-C built them both ways.”10

“OH WOW! I can (foggily) remember day dreaming about these cars in HS in 1957/58. I got chastised for drawing one on my desk calendar at my first job! I’m expecting “grandissimo” numbers from our BAT community.”

“There have been a lot of good comments on cooling and radiators.
My Griffith was upgraded with all of the mentioned modifications but nothing worked until I installed a chin spoiler under the radiator. All cars today have chin spoilers, for a reason.
Regarding cabin temperatures, my headers are ceramic coated and there is proper insulation under the carpet, keeping me cool as a cucumber, even on the hottest days.
This is all for my Griffith but a 2500M is basically the same only…”8

“Every time I get off of mine, I think to myself what a great machine it is! These also look so much better than the brand new RT, at least to my eye. For prospective buyers, it’s worth knowing that BMW pays for driveshaft service every 12,000 miles, with replacement at their cost somewhere in the 36,000 mile range. It might take some time for this low mileage example to get there, but knowing they service it free is added peace of mind. I’m so impressed by my 2015.”

Until you drive one you will never understand the why you need one of these in your collection. I do think they deserve to be DRIVEN!!!”

“Some final hour Sport evolution M3 fun facts.
The sport evolution is the 3rd evolution of the E30 M3 homologated for racing. It was produced for just 3 months in 1990 resulting in 600 models. 500 models were required to evolve a race car at the time. Only 204 Red Sport evos were ever made.
This car is 100% original in terms of parts. The modifications are exactly as it left BMW.
The Sport evo was the only E30 M3 to feature a 2.5 Liter S14 engine making 238 HP.
Some easy to spot visual…”13
