    This Success Story comes to us from zipcode, who won this 2007 Jaguar X-Type 3.0 Sportwagen in a February 2025 BaT auction:
    I purchased a 2007 Jaguar X-Type wagon over a year ago, on February 10, 2025, from Vancouver, Canada. We waited until May 2025 to fly from Florida to Toronto to catch the train for a four-night trip to Vancouver.

    “Aston Martin Db7 – Nice choice. Really any sport sedan with beautiful lines that you don’t want to ruin with a soft top would benefit from a t-top. Ferrari 400i, 60’s Mustang, Maserati BiTurbo all come to mind. But this week I’ll go along with the Db7.”

    The Mohr Imports Monterey Car Week Collection — Explained

    Mid-August is just around the corner, and our friends at Mohr Imports are back with the seventh(!) installment of their Monterey Car Week Collection. This year’s is as eclectic as ever, with a heavy focus on German sports cars this time around. There’s also a quartet of Cobras and Ford GTs, a 16M Scud, an Aston dressed in Ferrari colors, and one of the rarer variants of the Lotus Esprit. The collection encompasses 22 cars in all, spanning from 1957–2022. As a Bring a Trailer Local Partner and a mainstay of the Monterey collector car community for over 40 years, Mohr has provided a series of tour videos featuring the cars from the collection, which showcases many highlights that the area has to offer. They’re calling it “The Local Partners Insider’s Guide to Monterey Car Week” and it’s definitely worth a look.

    BaT member ardee2002 won this 1993 Volkswagen Corrado SLC VR6 from BaT Local Partner lromanosky in a November 2025 BaT auction, and he wrote in to tell us about it:
    After 35 years of waiting, I finally won a 1993 Volkswagen Corrado SLC VR6. When I won this 41k-km example in December 2025, it was fulfilling a Gen-X dream. Born in the late 1960s, I grew up in the peak malaise era, followed by the rise of Japanese sports coupes from the 1980s. Being 6’4″, I never seemed to fit in contemporary Integras and 240SXs, so my university car was a Mk2 Golf—basic, sturdy, and fun. I developed a love for German engineering that never left me.

    “This was my Dad’s car. I learned to drive a stick in this car and took my drivers test for my license. He and I worked on it together and we would race through the mountains. When he was over seas, my mom and I had to drive it weekly to keep it running. both of my parents are in heaven. My mom is looking down at me, saying what in the hell are you thinking?     sludgo’s Mile Markers—Mile 223 You Should Know

    This last Saturday evening I met my youngest at the rib place over by the mall. We’ve made it a regular date ever since he moved out of the McBungalow however many years ago. I enjoy seeing him and think he enjoys seeing his dear ol’ dad, but I know full well that in light of his instant-ramen-level cooking skills what he likely enjoys most is having a decent meal once a week, especially if I’m springing for it. No matter. I don’t mind. It’s become a highlight of my week. I always buy a couple of scratch-off tickets for us—the five dollar kind—and we sit in our favorite booth scratching away, hoping to win big bucks as we chat about this and that and nosh on our racks of baby backs and stacks of sweet Vidalia beer-battered onion rings before washing everything down with a Long Island iced tea for me and a Dr. Pepper for the kiddo. It’s a good time. Like I said, a highlight of my week.
