A few of the comments that stood out to us yesterday:

“Proud to bring this iconic car to BaT. I purchased it directly from Ken Block around the time he transitioned from Ford to Audi, and during my ownership it’s been carefully maintained and preserved to the same standard as when it left Ken’s hands.
This isn’t just a build or a replica of an era — this Hoonigan Escort Mk2 Gymkhana car holds a special place in Ken Block and Hoonigan history. It’s the car he owned the longest, and to me it represents the raw, analog side of what made…”

“I’m 60 now and cannt remember any to events when I was 5 in 1970 but this day I will always remember. , My dad was looking for a slightly used car for the family and I clearly recall the day we went to Beach Brothers Chrysler Dodge Plymouth in Salem, Va to look at a 1969 Coronet 2dr and there I stood staring at the two Superbirds parked beside each in a back row. My dad said they looked ridiculous, I thought they were the coolest cars I’d ever seen. I have loved them ever since. He bought…”

“It has been a genuine privilege to have this extraordinary 113-year-old racing motorcycle on display in my collection. It stands as far more than a rare machine—it is a tangible reminder of the ingenuity, craftsmanship, and determination of the pioneers who built it.
This motorcycle is a testament to what skilled hands, creative minds, and unwavering perseverance could accomplish more than a century ago.
Yet the motorcycle tells only part of the story.
It also pays tribute to the fearless…”

“I own the same car, even down to the 1592 twin cam and automatic transmission. It was built 6,028 cars later than this one, currently has 178,408 miles, and is our daily driver. I got it from the original owner’s family, and am technically the 4th caretaker. Since I also specialize in Fiats, I have serviced it mostly from new.
We take it on club tours, and it’s comfortable at an indicated 70+ mph. In 2024 we won worst in class at the concours d’lemons in Seaside California, and last year we…”

Marrone Colorado is one of the best colors on these cars. Just outstanding, as is this example.
Having owned two of these cars, I can say that they are wonderful to drive in every respect. With proper servicing, they are as reliable as a Honda. They are not easy to work on and quite expensive for repairs and service.

“A great car with a great story! I’m often surprised how wing cars are optioned. For example, the C-21 Center front-seat cushion and folding armrest with column automatic, seen here. Deluxe wheel covers? I guess I assume it’s a class of car that would naturally be more loaded up.
Of course their existence as the manufacturers were pushing the limits of NASCAR homologation rules ensures they are inherently fascinating. Producing them had nothing to do with marketing them for profit.…”

First, as you noted, install the side windows. Even with the top down it will keep the wind from beating you up. Then, when you put the top up, only if needed for major rain of course, you will stay relatively dry.
Second, do not use interstate highways unless there is no reasonable alternative. As the…”
