“@volvoracer9 – That is an excellent question. The guy who created this went to great lengths to make it accurate. As far as I have found, everything is correct except the brakes/wheels/hubs. A true MC850 will have 4 bolt wheels and hubs with a different front brake caliper. I put on adjustable Spax shocks but the original Koni shocks come with it. Engine and head are correct for MC850 as is the entire interior including the rear seat which is basically cushions on top of a storage bin. Club…”

“As a retired Aerospace Engine-nerd, I can relate to this car and the OCD of the prior owners/family. This one won’t be restored nor turned for profit, but it will be driven in the desert southwest and turn over 100,000 miles within a year or so. I drive ’em, I don’t show them or brag about them. Enjoy your cars folks! We ain’t gettin’ any younger, time goes so quickly.

“Awesome car. I love pic 149 because it tells a story of what likely happened to most radio delete Camaros in the early 80s when these cars were cheap enough to be purchased by teenagers who would not be caught dead in a car with no tunes. I can see the kid with his dad’s hacksaw, tin snips and pliers lying on his back in that trunk going to town. A couple hours later, with his brand new Jensen Tri-Axials installed, he’s cruising around town with tunes blaring. Radio delete option be damned!!”

I got to see this car in person, and all I can say is WOWW!! This car is spectacular. Down to details like proper hose clamps, it’s just done so nicely and correctly. I quickly installed the Mopar Performance logic module and after getting the timing dialed in and an AutoMeter boost gauge installed, I was even more ready to “Go Like Hell.” So, one Friday evening in the spring, I was laying down rubber in first and second gear at each stop.

“Automatics are great – First, generally driven less spiritedly over their lifetime. Second, the automatic is actually very good. My auto on back roads, 2nd gear could go from about 25 mph to 70 mph. Often with a group of other 02s, I would be pushing the car in front of me that was modified. Third, the auto works while you find that 5 speed that is wider than a 4 speed and what else is wider? The tunnel in an automatic. No hammer needed for installation.

“Oh hello, old friend! I managed Aston Martin Newport Beach for 6+ years, I spec’d this car personally, and I sold it to the original owner. Used to see him driving in Newport/Laguna all the time. I don’t work there anymore, so I don’t have access to the service records, but my memory was that the original owner did the scheduled maintenance on time, and the remainder of the service visits you see on the carfax are for tires. “These cars were so ahead of their time. Supercharged, intercooled, 4 wheel discs with ABS, IRS with adaptive damping, even pneumatic adjustable side bolsters. I still have my 35th anniversary 5 speed version, and it remains a pleasure to drive unlike most crude live axle domestics of the era.”
