“My best friend has his dad’s 240Z in this color combo. His dad died when he was young and he’s dreamt of getting it out of the garage, rust repaired, and running since. Sadly I’m not sure that day will ever come. This one… this is just fantastic. Wish he could have one go in his dad’s car… one day!
Either way… @raffi is a top person and seller! Best of luck to the future buyer! The car will be delivered as promised.”

“An AMC Hornet on a rotisserie…now that’s something you don’t often see. I like it. The dedication taken to not only restore, but improve upon this perpetual underdog is quite admirable. Bravo! Outstanding results. This noteworthy malaise should get nothing but praise.

“Could be a straightforward project for Marcos lovers who want to experience ownership. Perhaps a marque expert could chime in on whether the steel frame is of similar configuration to the original plywood ones and where the potential trouble spots might be before asking for more info from the seller. Lewes is a beach town if it originated there then factor in corrosion potential, and one of the road wheels shows signs of same. B18’s are usually bulletproof and agriculturally simple. Send the…”

“We’ve been going to Bonneville for over 25 years. First with the Buell team ( I got into the 130 Club on a Buell). In 2008, I set 2 landspeed records, ECTA Maxton and Speedweek. I got my A liscense in 2009. After a break to concentrate on our motorcycle race team (AFT Flat Track) we returned with a Ford F150 Lightening. We are the current record holder in the A/FMP class at 170+ MPH. This year we are Gold Sponsors of the SCTA-BNI Bonneville season. My intention is to return this legendary Audi…”

“I knew this was a California car as soon as I saw the chrome wheels. In the 90s, my uncle, who was a doctor in Newport Beach, bought this exact same spec. As a kid who was used to being toted around in spartan Volvos, I thought it was the fanciest car I had ever sat in.
FWIW early 1UZ-FEs are non-interference engines so timing belt failure (which is rare) is not necessarily catastrophic.”

“@bbilly McQueen rode a “stolen” German military camp motorcycle which was a modified Triumph TR6 Trophy in The Great Escape. A period-correct BMW or Zundapp weren’t up to the physical task. McQueen did all of the riding except for the 60-ft jump over the barbed wire. Insurance restrictions limited that scene.”

“Exact car, down to the color, my Uncle had. My parents borrowed it in August, 1959 when we went to get our first Weimaraner from some people in Illinois. My first dog, remember the trip, I was 4. We had a DeSoto 2 door sedan (1952) at that time, unsuitable for transport of a very large pup!
Paint was dull on his wagon I recall. Downright chalky. Within the next year or so he traded it on a brand new Ford Taunus wagon. (Now there’s one you NEVER see.)”

This car before the resto would have been an excellent submission. I applaud owners who see a car in that shape and decide to dedicate the time and money to bring a car back to life. You have my respect.

“It’s been years, but I saw a similar one in Madison, WI. The owner and buddy drove up from the Chicago area – a 2 hour interstate highway drive. They had leather goggles and huge smiles behind the little windscreens. The Ferrari was specked with bugs and road dirt and looked utterly amazing. What a day for those guys. A pleasure for the show attendees as well. Someone is going to have fun with this 212 beauty. Let ‘er rip!
