“I drove a 2012 manual Fit for three years before I lost it in a flood trying to cross an underpass. They float extremely well by the way.
It was SO much fun to drive. It fit two bikes in the back with the seats up. Storage was best. I’ve not had a similar size car since that was as enjoyable. The Fiesta ST is a close second but the FIT had better (less) torque steer when burning the tires in the wet. It would get rubber past 2nd gear on moist roads.

“A tip for the seller or new owner: When I replaced the door seals on my E34 M5 I used the seals from an E39. At the time E34 door seals were NLA and the E39 ones were readily available. I had to shorten them a few inches, but otherwise they are a perfect fit.”

“My first car was a 1979 5 door GLE in this same color combo… it was 1987 in Syracuse NY, so there was already rust starting to consume the rear end of that beauty. I drove the hell out of that car lugging amps and guitars to gigs in high school. By the time I graduated in 1989 the rust won and I sold it to a guy who raced SAABs on a frozen lake nearby… her engine and those glorious front red-ish bucket seats went on to live their best life racing in ice rally’s! Her “GLE” badge still…”
