“Thanks P 38. I went to college driving a new R1 with air-conditioning. And automatic. I dated.my wife in a red Avanti. Married in 1965 and sold the Avanti get a car with a bench seat for our daughter’ s car seat. I have known where my original car is but have tried unsuccessfully for 30 years to buy it. When this car came along, I said what the heck. I’m excited to have a supercharged car and relieve some old memories. That is a lot of what the old car hobby is about.”

“I grew up in my family’s Pontiac dealership that opened in 1967. Crazy about high performance Firebirds & GTOs, especially the rare & special round port cars. From RAII in 1968 (356 cars), RAIV in 68 & 69 (1808 cars), 455 H.O. in 71 & 72 (5037 cars) and the last of the Mohicans, SD-455 in 73 & 74 (1296 cars). With over 4000 Pontiac dealerships back then most never acquired a single super duty during the two years of production. They were insanely hard to get. Our store…”

“I took my driving test in my Mom’s 75′ Grand Safari Wagon.(same body as this car). one of the longest cars ever built.. I had to parallel park it to get my license.
After going through a blinking red light, the state patrol officer said if you can get this car out of this space without turning over any of the traffic cones, he would give me my license.. My father was laughing so hard he almost fell down.
Some how I ended up with my drivers license..”

“The “Daytona 500” connection is quite plausible. Pontiac VP of PR Bob Emerick was a good friend of Bill France Sr., and Pontiac was the official pace car at Daytona for many years.
As part of that arrangement, speedway executives all drove new “loaner” Pontiacs, and many were allowed to “spec’ them any way they wanted. A loaded full-size wagon could have been part of this rotation.
In my time there, after suffering through several months in a red on red 4-door Phoenix, I ordered a two-tone 5…”

I got it from the original owner’s family, and am technically the 4th caretaker. Since I also specialize in Fiats, I have serviced it mostly from new.
We take it on club tours, and it’s comfortable at an indicated 70+ mph. In 2024 we won worst in class at the concours d’lemons in Seaside California, and last year we…”

“This was my Dad’s car. I learned to drive a stick in this car and took my drivers test for my license. He and I worked on it together and we would race through the mountains. When he was over seas, my mom and I had to drive it weekly to keep it running. both of my parents are in heaven. My mom is looking down at me, saying what in the hell are you thinking? My dad is looking down at me and saying hell yeah!”

In addition to buying a tested and regularly driven car, you are buying a top-tier seller. This Car is coming back to Maryland. My father-in-law was the Owner that bought the car in MD. A family member sold the car after his passing without us knowing. I have been searching for a white on cinnamon e46M3 for the better part of the last decade…. When this popped up I got excited. When I saw it was originally from MD, I thought there was a chance.
