Despite suffering a serious injury, Dani Carvajal has still been offered a contract extension by Real Madrid. Less than a day after Carvajal sustained a severe injury that will likely sideline him for the rest of the 2024/25 season, Real Madrid made a surprising decision regarding the 32-year-old defender. Los Blancos extended his contract by one year, even though his current deal with the Spanish international was set to run until June 2026.
Real Madrid stated that this extension was part of a plan agreed upon by both parties beforehand. With this new agreement, the EURO 2024 champion will continue his career until the age of 35.
On their official website, the Spanish club announced: “As planned, we have agreed with Dani Carvajal to extend his contract, even though his current deal still runs until June 30, 2026.”
“Real Madrid wants to show its full support and special affection for Carvajal. We wish him a speedy recovery so that he can return to the field as soon as possible and enjoy playing great football with the club.”
In 2002, at just 10 years old, Carvajal joined Real Madrid’s academy. After progressing through the youth levels, he was promoted to the first team in 2013. Over 12 years of dedication, Carvajal has become a legend of the Bernabéu and world football.
