Gideon Oberson And Their Tribal-Cyberpunk Swimwear

Gideon Oberson and their new swimwear range doesn’t conform to the trends of the swimwear season. Plenty of designers are going back to nature. They like taking the purist’s approach when it comes to the wilderness. Keeping their design accurate representations of the natural world around them. Gideon Oberson has gone in the other direction completely. This new range combines tribal markings, abstract art, and cyberpunk shapes. All this to create something that isn’t at all in the mainstream. This is something we’re incredibly excited about. Gideon Oberson And Their Stunning Cyberpunk Tribal Designs This new Gideon Oberson swimsuit looks like a combination of many inspirations. One is traditional, indigenous African markings, the kind of thing you’d see on the red robes of the Masai. But it’s a little more fractured and out of the ordinary for that. This makes it closer to a Cubist painting, another strong inspiration. Where does the cyberpunk come from though? The turquoise and oily purples are straight out of Bladerunner and similar Sci-fi classics. This gives Gideon Oberson’s new design a retro and stylish 1980s edge. A truly different and unique design. It has done the grand job of shattering the routine and rhythm of this swimwear season. This Range Has So Much More To Offer This is just the tip of the iceberg for Gideon Oberson. There is so much more to enjoy from their range and we absolutely adore all of it. And not only are there plenty of fashion pieces in their line up, but the quality is great too. We adore the range for being long lasting and comfortable to wear too. This is not something you find in a lot of fashion ranges. They tend to look great but be only wearable for a season or two. Or they are sturdy but a little basic. We are happy to say that these guys are great for both aspects of swimwear though.

Swimwear Trends: The One Shoulder Swimsuit

We saw it in 2009, briefly last year (who can forget the Gottex Mandarin Asymmetric Swimsuit of last season) and it’s definitely back in Spring Summer. The ‘One Shoulder Swimsuit’ is one of our favourite Fashion trends. Inspired in the 80’s, it works very well on athletic and rectangular shape bodies, adding extra movement and curves. You’ll also find one shoulder dresses to combine with bandeau swimwear, too. Which Celebrities Have Embraced The One Shoulder Swimsuit Trend? We already spotted Amanda Seyfried in this cute one-shoulder swimsuit last summer (Vogue, June 2015). She looks so fab!  Lara Bingle looked this good in a pale pink one shoulder swimsuit for the January 2016 issue of Australian Cosmopolitan. Jessica Alba features a one shoulder bikini in a spectacular Royal Blue shade in a photo-shoot for Shape magazine.  But these aren’t the only celebrities. If you google it, you’ll quickly see that one shoulder swimsuits and bikinis are getting more and more popular these days. One shoulder styles aren’t only a thing for swimwear and beachwear, though. You’ll soon realise many tops and dresses are going for this strap style. We have even seen some long sleeved and one shoulder styles for the upcoming Autumn Winter season. Not the most practical style, but it surely has to look amazing. Who can remember this being a trend in the late ’80s? Some Gottex One Shoulder Amazing Designs we are loving No surprises here. Gottex is the first brand to stock one shoulder swimsuits this season. Forever Unique and the Gottex’s capsule collection, to follow in a few months, will follow the steps in this first Gottex Cruise collection. Sailor Chic Comes Full Circle

Lidea’s Rebecca Bikini isn’t quite the reproduction of old time sailor outfits, with that timeless sailor chic, that you might think it is at first glance. Lidea is, however, a beautiful tribute to that old style. The classic horizontal stripes seem an obvious choice for designer swimwear. Timeless, simple and flattering, even if the vertical stripe is more often publicized as so. But look broadly at most designer swimwear today and you get floral, abstract and animal. I write about fashion all day, so I can see how each new season that includes these conventions has evolved from the last seasons that included it. I get to see how new and appealing those versatile patterns can be when a designer starts over with them. All these patterns and trends are good, of course. But what about those designs that don’t usually get this treatment? Rebecca is one of these pieces. Sailor-chic is a style that remains mostly unaltered, from its first days until now. Lidea’s designer swimwear takes the classic styles and gives it a fresh start. The stripes on the cups are much narrower than most horizontal patterns, which give your upper body a more toned look. The stitching in the cup’s fabric is a clever effect here too. As the stripes converge, the stitching cuts them in two and makes them point upwards, just a little. This gives the top a visual lift effect that’s very flattering and perfect for shaping your shoulders and chest. The briefs have a lot more coverage than most modern designer swimsuits, too. This trend is gaining in popularity. It’s one of the best ways to connect with the classic styles of swimwear. The deep briefs and high waist of this bikini are a tribute to the pin-up era of fashion, a staple of sailor-chic. Lidea hasn’t been with us for too long, but with designer swimwear releases like this, they’ll soon be one of our favourite brands. I’m hoping, with more of their great work, they’ll be one of yours too.

After surgery, scars can be difficult to conceal and the body may have undergone a drastic change.
