Because of Alphonso Davies, Real Madrid is ready to ‘sacrifice a pawn.’
reveals that Real Madrid is laying out specific plans to sign defender Alphonso Davies, despite rumors that he may stay at Bayern Munich.

Real Madrid is targeting Alphonso Davies for the next summer transfer window. To make room for this deal, the club may sell left-back Fran García. According to reports from Spain, Davies’ contract with Bayern Munich will expire next summer, allowing him to sign a pre-contract with a new club starting in January. While the two sides have not yet reached an agreement on salary, the likelihood of Davies joining Real Madrid is said to be high, as he reportedly has a “verbal agreement” with the team.

Davies is expected to earn a lucrative salary at Real Madrid.
It is reported that Davies could receive a salary of up to €18 million per year, along with a signing bonus, thanks to Real Madrid not having to pay a transfer fee. Meanwhile, the best offer Bayern could put forward is only €14 million per year.
To bring in Davies, Real Madrid needs to create financial room, and Fran García is reportedly set to be sold. The left-back is currently a backup for Ferland Mendy, and the club might accept offers ranging from €15 million to €20 million for García. Having joined Madrid at a young age, García has made 44 appearances since returning from his stint with Rayo Vallecano.

However, Real Madrid, currently second in La Liga, could face challenges in completing the deal. Barcelona, under the leadership of Hansi Flick—who discovered Davies at Bayern—is also interested in the Canadian player. But given Barcelona’s financial struggles, they may find it hard to compete economically.
