Roman-Era masterpiece found hidden beneath fields …

Archaeologists have uncovered a stunning 4th-century Roman mosaic beneath farmland in England, offering new insight into life during the period when Britain was part of the Roman Empire.

The remarkable mosaic was discovered at the remains of an ancient Roman villa in Devon. Made from thousands of colorful stones arranged into intricate floral patterns, the artwork is believed to date back to the fourth century AD.

The discovery provides fresh evidence of the wealth, architecture and cultural influence that existed in Roman Britain. The Roman Empire controlled much of Britain from around AD 43 until around AD 410, leaving behind numerous settlements, villas, roads and other archaeological remains.

Alongside the mosaic, archaeologists discovered a large and sophisticated Roman bathhouse near the site. The complex reportedly contained several small pools, walls decorated with colorful plaster and a range of other ancient artifacts.

The excavation was carried out over a two-month period by archaeologists from the University of Exeter and Cotswold Archaeology. Volunteers also participated in the work, helping researchers investigate the agricultural land located between the Devon villages of Hill Barton and Sampford Peverell.

The archaeological team already knew that the Roman villa and surrounding working areas were potentially important for understanding the spread of Roman culture across Devon. However, the latest findings have revealed that the site was considerably larger and more significant than previously understood.

Project leader Dr Susan Greaney said the discoveries could help researchers better understand Roman cultural influence and its interaction with local communities in the region.

The detailed mosaic is particularly significant because such decorative artwork can provide clues about the status and lifestyle of people who lived at Roman villas. Its elaborate design and the presence of a substantial bathhouse suggest that the site was an important settlement rather than a simple rural dwelling.

Archaeologists will now continue studying the discoveries and artifacts recovered from the site. Researchers hope the evidence will shed more light on how people lived, worked and adopted Roman customs in southwest England nearly 2,000 years ago.

The Roman mosaic discovered in Devon is another reminder of how much of Britain’s ancient history remains hidden beneath modern farmland. Further archaeological investigation could reveal even more about the communities that lived in the region during the final centuries of Roman rule.

New CCTV footage emerges in Mir Raza Ali murder in…

A significant development has emerged in the investigation into the murder of Mir Raza Ali, a young resident of Karachi’s PECHS area, as police continue to gather evidence and analyze new surveillance footage to determine the circumstances surrounding the case. According to investigators, a newly obtained CCTV recording shows Mir Raza Ali walking along a street shortly before the incident. During the footage, he appears to remove a glowing object from his pocket and throw it away while continuing on foot. Police believe the object seen in the video is likely to be a mobile phone, although forensic analysis is still underway to confirm its identity. Officials said a local resident had earlier informed police about the location where a mobile phone was found. The spot reportedly matches the location visible in the CCTV footage where the illuminated object was discarded, strengthening investigators’ efforts to establish a timeline of events. Police have since collected additional evidence from the area where the phone was recovered. Investigators are examining the location for forensic clues that may help determine what happened before the victim’s death and whether anyone else was present at the scene. Authorities also confirmed that more CCTV footage tracing Mir Raza Ali’s movements has been obtained from nearby locations. The investigation team is carrying out a detailed technical and forensic examination of these recordings to reconstruct the victim’s final movements and identify any individuals who may have come into contact with him. Law enforcement officials said the investigation remains active and that all available evidence is being carefully reviewed. Detectives are comparing CCTV footage, forensic findings, witness statements, and digital evidence to establish a clearer picture of the events leading up to the murder. Police have not yet announced any arrests or identified suspects in connection with the case. They emphasized that multiple aspects of the investigation are being examined and that conclusions will only be drawn after all evidence has been thoroughly analyzed. The emergence of the latest CCTV footage is considered an important development because it may help investigators verify key details of the victim’s movements before the incident. However, officials cautioned that the investigation is still in progress, and no final determination has been made regarding the significance of the recovered mobile phone or its possible connection to the crime. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to pursuing every lead and using forensic and technical analysis to ensure that those responsible for Mir Raza Ali’s death are identified and brought to justice.

Imran Khan asks Akbar S Babar to reunite former PT…

PTI founder Imran Khan has sent an important message to former party colleague and founding member Akbar S Babar from jail. According to Babar, Khan has asked him to play a role in bringing together the party’s early members. He has also been asked to reach out to disgruntled leaders and workers. Babar confirmed that he received the message through another longtime associate of the PTI founder who is currently in jail. The message reportedly focuses on reconnecting with people who were associated with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf during its early years. It also includes party members and workers who later became unhappy with the party leadership or distanced themselves from it. Babar said the message reflects Khan’s desire to bring former colleagues closer together. The aim is to create greater unity among PTI’s old associates and workers. The former PTI leader also shared another significant part of the message. He said Imran Khan told him that after being released from jail, he would first visit Babar’s home. The message is being viewed in the context of PTI’s efforts to maintain political unity. The party has faced internal disagreements and differences among several of its former and current leaders. Akbar S Babar was among the founding members of PTI. He later developed serious differences with the party leadership. His disagreements with the party eventually led to a long-running legal and political dispute. Babar has remained critical of several aspects of PTI’s internal affairs. However, the latest message indicates a possible attempt to reconnect with the party’s early associates. The reported communication also highlights the importance of PTI’s original members and workers. Many of them played a role in establishing the party during its early political years. According to Babar, the message from jail was clear. He has been asked to help bridge differences and bring people together. The development could become significant if former leaders and workers respond positively to the outreach. It may also open the possibility of renewed communication between PTI’s current leadership and some of its former associates. For now, Babar has publicly confirmed receiving the message. Further details about the proposed efforts to reunite former PTI members have not been disclosed.
