Rihanna shares emotional Barbados homecoming with her children

Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, recently gave fans a touching glimpse into a family trip to her childhood home in Barbados, sharing how meaningful it was to return to the place where she grew up with her own children.

On Tuesday, August 11, the 38-year-old singer, entrepreneur, and businesswoman shared a three-slide carousel on Instagram featuring moments from her getaway with her children. The photos offered fans a rare look at the superstar enjoying time with her family while revisiting a place that holds deep personal significance.

Reflecting on the emotional experience, Rihanna described how surreal it felt to return to her roots as a mother. She recalled growing up as a young girl in Westbury and now being able to introduce her children to “Rihanna Drive,” a street named in her honor on Westbury New Road in St. Michael.

“One minute I feel like that kid from Westbury… the next minute I’m bringing my own kids back to ‘Rihanna Drive,’” Rihanna wrote in the caption.

She continued by expressing her amazement at how unexpectedly life can come full circle. “Trippy how life works! And the Glory STILL and WILL ALWAYS belong to the Almighty Creator!!!” she added.

One fan described the moment as incredible, while another called it a beautiful example of life coming full circle. Others praised Rihanna for allowing her children to experience the place where she grew up and highlighted how special it must be for them to understand their mother’s journey.

The Barbados visit also comes as Rihanna and her longtime partner, A$AP Rocky, continue to balance their busy professional lives with raising their young family. During a recent appearance on The Jason Lee Show, A$AP Rocky opened up about their parenting routine and explained that the couple receives support from their mothers as well as nannies.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have welcomed three children together. Their first son, RZA, was born in May 2022. The couple later welcomed their second son, Riot, in August 2023. In September 2025, they expanded their family once again with the arrival of their daughter, Rocki.

For Rihanna, returning to Westbury with her children appears to have been more than just a family getaway. It represented a powerful connection between her past and present, allowing her to revisit the place that shaped her while creating new memories with the next generation of her family.

Sonu Nigam opens up on being banned by music companies over copyright fight

Sonu Nigam recently revisited one of the most controversial chapters of his career. He spoke about it during a candid conversation on the YouTube show Game Changers with Komal Nahta. The topic centered on the time music companies banned him after he raised his voice on copyright issues. Nigam began by looking back at how well his career was going before the controversy started. He said albums kept releasing one after another during that time. Audiences loved his work, and everything seemed to be going smoothly. That changed the moment he raised concerns over copyright. Several music companies responded by cutting ties with him entirely. He recalled how people within the industry began labelling him an activist at the time. The tone behind that label, he noted, was often dismissive rather than respectful. Looking back now, he finds it ironic that those same companies eventually started paying him royalties. He added that representatives from these companies now visit his home as guests. Nigam also explained his reasoning behind taking such a bold stand at the time. He said someone had to take the risk, comparing his decision to belling the cat. According to him, he felt he was meant for something bigger than just singing. He believed he was destined to carry forward a movement that legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar had once started. That movement, he said, had never reached its logical conclusion. When asked whether he felt scared during that turbulent period, Nigam said fear was not something he experienced. He admitted he never expected to actually get banned in the first place. He initially believed things would eventually work out on their own. However, as the situation kept worsening and more doors closed around him, he found strength through his live performances instead. He felt confident that nobody could stop him once he stepped on stage. Nigam went on to describe how his relationship with music companies gradually improved over time. He credited changing laws, along with the industry’s eventual realization that his stance had been justified. According to him, this shift slowly repaired his equation with these companies. Today, he said, their interactions feel warm and almost familial in nature. Reflecting on the entire journey, Nigam suggested that everyone involved likely needed to go through that difficult phase for real change to happen. He noted that any bitterness or resentment that once existed between him and the industry has since completely faded away, leaving behind a much healthier relationship.

Deadly heatwave sweeps South Korea, claims 16 live…

SEOUL: South Korea is grappling with one of the most intense heatwaves in its recorded history, with at least 16 people losing their lives and more than 2,000 others suffering from heat-related illnesses as extreme temperatures continue to grip the country. According to South Korean authorities, the nation recently recorded its highest temperature in 122 years of weather observations, with the southern city of Yangsan reaching a scorching 42.5°C. For the first time, officials have issued an extreme heat warning for the capital, Seoul, highlighting the severity of the ongoing weather conditions. President Lee Jae Myung has instructed government agencies to step up emergency measures to protect vulnerable groups, including the elderly, outdoor workers, and people with underlying health conditions. He also directed officials to closely monitor the country’s electricity supply as soaring demand for cooling systems places added pressure on the power grid. Climate experts say the unprecedented heat is being driven by a combination of persistent high-pressure weather systems and the growing impact of climate change, which has intensified extreme weather events across the region. Authorities continue to urge residents to limit outdoor activities, stay hydrated, and take precautions as the record-breaking heatwave shows little sign of easing.

Irina Shayk finds new boyfriend after parting ways…

Supermodel Irina Shayk appears to be embracing a new chapter in her love life. Nearly three years after her brief romance with former NFL star Tom Brady ended, the Russian model is reportedly dating NBA player Devin Booker. According to multiple reports, the relationship is still in its early stages, but those close to the pair say the connection is growing stronger with each passing week.  Sources claim Shayk and Booker were introduced through mutual friends several months ago. Since then, they have been spending time together whenever their busy schedules allow. With Booker preparing for the upcoming NBA season, the two are reportedly making the most of the summer, enjoying low-key outings and getting to know each other away from the public eye.  Romance rumors intensified after the pair were spotted together in the Hamptons over the weekend. Witnesses reportedly saw them leaving a café before later attending a social gathering in Montauk. While neither Shayk nor Booker has confirmed the relationship publicly, insiders say the model is “very into him” and may even attend some of his basketball games once the season begins.  The reported romance comes after Shayk’s short-lived relationship with Tom Brady, which first made headlines in the summer of 2023. The pair dated for a few months before quietly going their separate ways. At the time, sources described the split as amicable, saying the relationship had simply “fizzled out” without any drama or hard feelings.  Before Brady, Shayk was in a long-term relationship with actor Bradley Cooper, with whom she shares daughter Lea De Seine. Despite ending their romance in 2019, the former couple have maintained a friendly co-parenting relationship and have often been praised for putting their daughter first.  Booker, meanwhile, was previously in a high-profile relationship with reality star Kendall Jenner. The NBA standout has largely kept his personal life private since their split, making the reported romance with Shayk one of his first public dating stories in recent years.  Although neither Shayk nor Booker has addressed the reports directly, those close to the couple say they are enjoying the early stages of their relationship without rushing into the spotlight. For now, the pair seem content to let their romance develop naturally, proving that sometimes the best relationships begin quietly before capturing the world’s attention.

Maryam orders fire safety checks at Rawalpindi hos…

RAWALPINDI: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has ordered authorities to ensure complete fire safety arrangements at all government hospitals in Rawalpindi. The chief minister has also sought a detailed report from Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Nasir about the safety arrangements at government hospitals across the city. The directive comes amid growing concerns over fire safety at healthcare facilities following the deadly fire at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad. Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Nasir said authorities would ensure the installation of proper fire safety systems in all government hospitals. He said work had already started on the installation of fire hydrants at hospitals. The facilities will also be checked to ensure that emergency arrangements are functional and accessible. On the deputy commissioner’s instructions, the Additional Deputy Commissioner visited government hospitals along with Rescue teams. The teams inspected the hospitals and reviewed their existing fire safety arrangements. They also examined the facilities required to respond to an emergency. Officials are focusing on three key areas. These include fire alarms, fire hydrants and emergency exits. The administration has been directed to ensure that fire alarms are operational and that hydrants are available at appropriate locations. Emergency exits are also being checked to ensure that patients, attendants and hospital staff can leave buildings quickly during an emergency. The deputy commissioner said the safety of patients was the administration’s top priority. He warned that no negligence would be tolerated in implementing fire safety measures. The inspection campaign is aimed at identifying weaknesses before they lead to a major incident. Authorities are also expected to take corrective measures wherever deficiencies are found. Government hospitals handle large numbers of patients every day. Many patients are also critically ill and cannot be moved quickly during an emergency. Officials therefore consider functional fire prevention and evacuation systems essential for protecting patients and medical staff.

Sunny Deol’s ‘Batwara 1947’ earns praise for raw, emotional performance

The story of Partition has returned to the big screen with “Batwara 1947” and early viewers are already sharing largely positive reactions online. Many praised the film’s emotional storytelling, characters and performances. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film released in cinemas on August 14. It stars Sunny Deol as Sikandar, Shabana Azmi as Mai, and Preity Zinta as Hamida. Several viewers described the film as an emotional watch suited for the whole family. One social media user called it a complete family film and recommended watching it alongside parents, while also praising Azmi’s performance specifically. Other reactions focused on how the film portrayed the struggles people faced during Partition. Viewers pointed to its handling of fear, displacement and uncertainty as key emotional throughlines. One viewer noted that the film avoided painting Sikandar and Hamida as purely right or wrong. According to that reaction, their choices only made sense once the full weight of their circumstances became clear. Sunny Deol’s performance quickly became one of the most talked-about elements of the film. Numerous users praised his portrayal of Sikandar, particularly his expressive work in emotionally heavy scenes. One user wrote on X that Deol completely owns his character throughout the film. Another said his performance revealed emotional range well beyond his well-known action image, highlighting the quieter moments where his expressions carried entire scenes. The film’s character arc also drew significant attention from early viewers. Several noted that Sikandar’s journey across the story stood out as one of its strongest elements. One viewer pointed out that Sikandar was not written as a flawless hero from the start, instead confronting his own anger and beliefs as the narrative unfolds. Another praised a specific scene where his visible helplessness reportedly shifted the entire mood inside the theatre. Set in Lahore during the 1947 Partition, “Batwara 1947” explores the era’s impact through the lives of ordinary people. The film reportedly draws inspiration from Asghar Wajahat’s play “Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai.” These early reactions reflect only initial social media responses, with more detailed reviews expected as the film reaches wider audiences in the coming days.
