Anil Kapoor stepped up to celebrate his son-in-law in style. He shared a heartfelt note for Anand Ahuja on Instagram. The post came with a lovely set of pictures. Anand, husband to Sonam Kapoor, celebrated his birthday on July 29.

In his caption, the 69-year-old actor opened up about his bond with Anand. He said Anand’s presence always brings him a sense of calm. Just seeing him or hearing his voice seems to do the trick. It is a small detail, but it says a lot about how close the two have become.

Anil did not stop there. He spoke about how thoughtfully Anand treats everyone in the family. He praised the ease with which Anand cares for Sonam and their children. This quality, Anil wrote, fills him with comfort and joy. He ended the note on a simple, warm birthday wish.

Anand was quick to respond to the sweet gesture. He replied with his signature humour, joking about how many of his old hairstyles had made it into Anil’s post. He also thanked his father-in-law for always being encouraging and kind.

The celebrations did not end there. Sonam joined in with her own tribute. She shared a series of throwback photos capturing their journey as a couple. She described Anand as her safest place and closest support system. She added that she would pick him again, no matter how many lifetimes she got.

Anand responded in his usual playful tone. He lovingly called her his dream machine in return.

The couple has been married since May 2018. They exchanged vows in a small, intimate Punjabi wedding that was widely covered at the time. Since then, their relationship has often stood out for its warmth, humour and visible affection, something fans and family alike have noticed again and again.

Sonam and Anand became parents for the first time in 2022, welcoming their son Vayu. Their family grew further this year when they welcomed their second son on March 29, 2026.

Between Anil’s touching note and Sonam’s loving tribute, Anand’s birthday turned into more than just a celebration. It became a public reminder of just how close-knit this family really is, and how easily that affection comes through in the little things they share online.

    Prices of several essential commodities have increased significantly across Pakistan over the past year, putting additional pressure on household budgets. According to the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), major increases were recorded in the prices of several food items and fuel products. Onion prices recorded the highest increase among the commodities listed by the statistics agency. The price of onions rose by 132.52% in one year. Tomato prices also increased sharply by 93.21%, while flour became 62.25% more expensive during the same period. Fuel prices also witnessed substantial increases. According to the PBS, LPG became 51.69% more expensive over the year. Diesel prices increased by 33.08%, while petrol became 27.65% more expensive. The rise in fuel prices can also affect transportation and the cost of goods and services. Several meat and fruit prices also increased during the year. The price of bananas rose by 17.66%, while mutton became 15.98% more expensive. Beef prices increased by 13.54%, adding to the cost of commonly consumed food items. However, some essential commodities became cheaper during the same period. Potato prices declined by 30%, while sugar became 19.10% cheaper. Chicken prices also decreased by 17.68%, providing some relief to consumers. The statistics also showed a decline in the prices of eggs and pulses. Egg prices fell by 17.41% over the year, while chana dal became more than 13% cheaper. Masoor dal prices declined by 12.29%, while jaggery became 6% cheaper. The latest figures show mixed price trends in the country. While consumers received some relief from lower prices of potatoes, sugar, chicken, eggs and pulses, sharp increases in onions, tomatoes, flour and fuel continued to add pressure to household expenses. The data highlights the significant changes in the prices of everyday necessities over the past year.

The six single benches will comprise Justice Sarfraz Dogar, Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro, Justice Muhammad Asif, Justice Ayaz Shaukat, Justice Umair Majid Malik and Justice Shah Rukh Arjumand. The Registrar’s Office has issued the schedule as part of the court’s regular judicial proceedings. Cases listed before the respective benches will be taken up according to the cause list. The cause list determines which cases are scheduled for hearing and which judges will hear them. Lawyers and litigants will appear before the relevant benches on the dates fixed by the court. The Islamabad High Court will continue hearing cases through the six single benches and two division benches during the coming week.
