Julia Stiles joins Dancing with the Stars season 35

Julia Stiles is reportedly ready to return to the world of dance as she joins the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars.

The actress, best known for her memorable performances in films such as 10 Things I Hate About You and Save the Last Dance, is reportedly set to compete in Season 35 of the popular reality dance competition. Her reported casting has already generated excitement among viewers, particularly because of her connection to one of the most beloved dance movies of the early 2000s.

The news of Stiles’ involvement emerged on Thursday, August 20, with reports claiming that the actress has secured a place in the cast of the upcoming season. Dancing with the Stars Season 35 is scheduled to premiere on September 15 on ABC and Disney+, bringing together a new group of celebrities who will compete for the coveted Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.

Stiles’ participation is especially interesting because of her role in Save the Last Dance, the 2001 romantic dance drama that helped establish her as a major young star. In the film, she played Sara Johnson, a talented ballet dancer living in suburban Chicago who dreams of attending the prestigious Juilliard School.

The movie became one of the most recognizable dance films of its era, and Stiles received significant praise for her performance. Her work in the film earned her an MTV Movie Award as well as two Teen Choice Awards, further cementing her popularity with younger audiences at the time.

Fans excited about Julia Stiles’ casting

News of Stiles potentially joining Dancing with the Stars quickly attracted enthusiastic reactions from fans online. Many viewers immediately connected her reported casting with her dance background in Save the Last Dance and predicted that she could become one of the strongest contestants in the competition.

One fan expressed excitement about supporting Stiles throughout the season, while another joked that her character from Save the Last Dance already had an advantage because she had trained to pursue Juilliard.

Other fans welcomed the news with equally enthusiastic messages, with some saying they were already looking forward to watching her take the dance floor.

If confirmed, Stiles’ participation could add an interesting nostalgic element to the new season, particularly for audiences who grew up watching her in Save the Last Dance.

Julia Stiles’ career

Born Julia O’Hara Stiles on March 28, 1981, the American actress and director has enjoyed a career spanning film and television. She rose to prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s before taking on a wide variety of roles across different genres.

Among her best-known movies are 10 Things I Hate About You, Down to You, Mona Lisa Smile, The Prince & Me, The Omen, Jason Bourne and Hustlers.

She has also made a strong impact on television, particularly through her role as Lumen Pierce in Dexter. She later appeared in the drama series Riviera, showcasing her ability to move between film and television projects.

With her reported addition to Dancing with the Stars, Stiles could now be entering a completely different chapter of her career. Her previous dance experience may give her an advantage, but she will still have to master the demanding choreography, ballroom techniques and live performances required by the competition.

As the premiere approaches, fans will be watching closely to see whether Stiles can turn her experience from Save the Last Dance into a successful run on the Dancing with the Stars dance floor.

Atiqa Odho questions casting choice in Dar Ke Nijat

Veteran Pakistani actress Atiqa Odho has shared her thoughts on what she believes was a casting mismatch in the drama serial Dar Ke Nijat, saying one particular casting decision made it difficult for her to fully connect with the story. During a recent episode of the television review show Kya Drama Hai, Odho discussed different aspects of the drama and praised most of its casting. However, she admitted that she struggled to accept actress Saba Hameed in the role of Faran Tahir’s mother, explaining that the casting felt unconvincing to her. According to Odho, the overall cast of Dar Ke Nijat has been carefully selected, but she felt that Saba Hameed portraying the mother of Faran Tahir did not appear believable on screen. She noted that while actors are capable of playing a wide variety of characters regardless of their real-life age or appearance, audiences also need to feel that the relationships presented in a drama are convincing. The actress explained that her reservations were influenced by another television drama currently airing at the same time. In Bus Tera Saath Ho, Saba Hameed and Faran Tahir are seen portraying husband and wife, making it difficult for viewers to immediately accept them as mother and son in Dar Ke Nijat. Odho pointed out that watching the same pair in two entirely different family dynamics simultaneously affected the realism of the characters for her. She said that although actors often take on diverse roles, parallel broadcasts can sometimes create confusion and reduce the emotional impact of a performance. She also commented on Saba Hameed’s appearance, describing her as an elegant, stylish and youthful actress whose screen presence does not naturally align with traditional grandmotherly roles. Odho said that despite efforts to transform her look for the character, she still found it difficult to view her as an elderly matriarch. In her opinion, the makeover appeared forced rather than natural, preventing her from becoming fully immersed in the story. She stressed that this was her personal perspective and acknowledged that other viewers may have different opinions about the casting. Odho further remarked that she understands actors frequently portray characters outside their real-life age brackets and appreciates the creative freedom that comes with acting. Nevertheless, she believes that casting decisions should also consider audience perception, particularly when the same performers are appearing in multiple dramas at the same time in dramatically different relationships. The veteran actress emphasized that this single issue stood out to her while watching Dar Ke Nijat, even though she otherwise admired the production and its performances. Her comments have since sparked discussion among drama fans, with many debating whether simultaneous casting in contrasting family roles can affect a viewer’s ability to suspend disbelief. The conversation has also reignited broader discussions about casting choices in television dramas, particularly when popular actors appear in multiple projects airing concurrently. While some viewers agree that repeated pairings can be distracting, others argue that talented performers should be judged solely on how convincingly they portray their characters, regardless of their roles in other productions.

Marina Khan reveals the reason behind embracing her grey hair

Veteran Pakistani actress Marina Khan has opened up about why she chooses to keep her natural grey hair, sharing a heartfelt personal story that has shaped her perspective on aging and beauty. Speaking during a recent interview, the celebrated actress explained that her decision was influenced not only by practicality but also by an unforgettable childhood memory involving her mother. When asked why she does not regularly dye her hair, Marina Khan responded with a smile, saying that one of the biggest reasons is simply that she is too lazy to maintain it. She explained that coloring hair is not a one-time process and requires frequent touch-ups to keep it looking fresh, something she has never enjoyed doing. “I’m quite lazy,” she admitted humorously. “Once you start dyeing your hair, you have to keep going back for touch-ups, and I just don’t have the patience for that.” However, Marina emphasized that her decision goes beyond convenience. She revealed that her late mother played a significant role in changing the way she viewed grey hair and natural aging. Recalling a memorable incident from her school days, Marina said she had once attended a school function where she was searching for her mother among a large group of women seated together. While looking around, she noticed a woman with grey hair sitting in the audience. Assuming that the woman could not possibly be her mother, Marina walked past her without giving it a second thought.   A few moments later, when she looked again, she realized that the woman with the grey hair was, in fact, her own mother. The realization came as a surprise because she had never paid attention to the fact that her mother’s hair had turned grey. According to Marina, her mother had never been concerned about hiding the signs of aging and had confidently embraced her natural appearance. “That moment made me realize that my mother’s hair had become completely grey, but she never seemed to care about it,” Marina recalled. “She looked perfectly beautiful just as she was.” The experience left a lasting impression on the actress. She said that it changed the way she thought about beauty and aging, inspiring her to accept her own natural appearance without feeling pressured to hide it. “I remember thinking that if my mother could look so graceful and beautiful with grey hair, then why couldn’t I?” she said. Marina Khan also clarified that she has not completely ruled out hair coloring. She admitted that she has dyed her hair a few times over the years, but only occasionally rather than as part of a regular beauty routine. “I haven’t entirely given up on hair color,” she explained. “I’ve dyed my hair two or three times in between, but I’ve never made it a habit.” Her candid remarks have been widely appreciated by fans, many of whom praised her confidence and honesty. In an era where public figures often face pressure to maintain a youthful appearance, Marina’s perspective encourages self-acceptance and embracing natural beauty. Marina Khan is regarded as one of Pakistan’s most respected and accomplished actresses. Throughout her long and successful career, she has delivered memorable performances in numerous television dramas and remains a beloved figure in the country’s entertainment industry. Her latest comments have once again highlighted her authenticity and inspired many people to view aging with confidence rather than concern.

    Security forces intensify K-P anti-terror operatio…

Security forces have stepped up intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the Azm-e-Istehkam campaign, targeting militant hideouts and disrupting terrorist networks in several areas over the past two months, according to security sources. Officials said one of the major operations was carried out in the Khatti Killi area of North Waziristan, where security forces raided suspected militant hideouts following intelligence reports. During the operation, several terrorists were killed after an exchange of fire, while others sustained injuries and managed to flee. Security sources said troops recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition and communication equipment from the militants’ hideouts. The recovered material is expected to assist investigators in tracing the activities and support networks of militant groups operating in the region. According to officials, the operations specifically targeted members of Fitna al-Khawarij, the term used by the state for the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Authorities said the campaign was conducted with great care to protect civilians and prevent damage to local communities. Security officials emphasised that the ongoing operations are aimed at eliminating terrorist threats, restoring law and order, and ensuring lasting peace across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They reaffirmed that intelligence-led operations would continue until militant networks are dismantled and terrorism is eradicated. The latest operations are part of the broader Azm-e-Istehkam strategy launched to strengthen counterterrorism efforts nationwide. The campaign focuses on targeted intelligence operations against militant groups while enhancing the security of vulnerable areas. Last week, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said security forces had carried out more than 40,000 intelligence-based operations across Pakistan so far this year, with a significant number conducted in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said nearly 194 intelligence-based operations are being conducted daily across the country. According to the military spokesperson, security forces have eliminated more than 2,000 terrorists during 2026, reflecting the intensified pace of counterterrorism operations.
