Teams Searching for Young Missing Russian Siblings Near Pattaya Zero in on Phone GPS Signal that Vanished Near Reservoir

Investigators are focusing on the Khama Rodok area, known locally as Mab Fak Thong 1 Reservoir behind Wat Yansangwararam, after detecting that the GPS signal from one of two Russian siblings’ mobile phones disappeared just before the path leading to the reservoir.
On the morning of July 30th, 2026, rescue teams responded to a tip from a local resident who reported finding what appeared to be motorcycle parts in the same vicinity. Officers are now conducting a detailed examination of the fragments.
The location has drawn additional attention following a statement from the sister of a man police wish to interview identified as Mr. Thong. She said that around midday on 26 July, her brother and a companion known as “Pong”, another person police wish to interview, returned to her house covered in mud. The pair claimed they had been fishing near the Khama Rodok reservoir (Mab Fak Thong 1) but arrived empty-handed and couldn’t catch any fish. After showering, changing clothes, and cleaning up, they left on a red Honda Scoop motorcycle.
Their current location is unknown and Huay Yai police have released a public statement asking for information or the men to come forward for an interview.
Taken together, the GPS data and witness account have prompted several unanswered questions:
– Why did the phone’s GPS signal drop out in the immediate area of the reservoir?
– Do the recovered fragments belong to the motorcycle under investigation?
– Was the fishing explanation accurate, or did something else occur at the site?
