Sophie Turner may have found her way back home, but there is one thing about America that the actress admits she still misses: the sun. The Game of Thrones star recently opened up about her experience living in the United States and returning to England after several years abroad. While Turner says she is much happier being back in her home country, she revealed that she occasionally misses the bright sunshine she enjoyed while living in America. (E! The couple married in 2019 and spent time living in Los Angeles and Miami before their relationship ended in 2023. The actress has previously spoken about missing British humor, familiar comfort foods and, especially, being close to her childhood friends and family. After spending important years of her adult life in America, being home has allowed her to reconnect with the environment and people who shaped her early years. A new chapter in London Turner has also continued building her acting career while living in the UK. Her return comes as she enters a new professional chapter, including her highly anticipated role as Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider series. While America provided Turner with years of memories and plenty of sunshine, her latest comments suggest that England feels more like home. The cloudy British weather may not always be her favorite, but everything else about being back seems to make up for it. For Turner, there is apparently only one thing America has that she truly wishes she could bring back with her: more sunshine.

Jason Sudeikis is celebrating his Kansas City roots after bringing his beloved hometown to the center of the Ted Lasso season 4 premiere. The 50-year-old actor and comedian, who stars as the warm-hearted football coach Ted Lasso, recently spoke with PEOPLE about returning to Kansas City with several of his castmates. For Sudeikis, filming there was more than simply another location shoot. It gave him the chance to share a place that has played an important role in his life with people he has worked alongside for years. (People.com⁠) A special homecoming Sudeikis grew up in the Kansas City area and has maintained a strong connection to the city. He frequently returns for charity events and other appearances, but bringing the Ted Lasso cast there created a different experience. Some of his co-stars, including Hannah Waddingham and Brendan Hunt, were already familiar with Kansas City. For Juno Temple and Jeremy Swift, however, the 10-day shoot offered an opportunity to experience the city for the first time. Sudeikis said he enjoyed watching his castmates discover the place he knows so well. Their reactions also allowed him to see Kansas City from a fresh perspective and appreciate it all over again. (People.com⁠) Kansas City takes the spotlight The season 4 premiere, titled “Home,” puts Kansas City at the heart of Ted’s story. The episode features recognizable locations and local touches, making the city feel like an important character rather than simply a backdrop. One memorable stop is Gates Bar-B-Q, a Kansas City institution that has been serving barbecue since 1946. In the episode, Ted introduces his British friends to the local favorite, giving viewers a taste of the city’s famous food culture. Sudeikis also revealed his own preferred order: pulled pork or burnt ends. His comments show just how familiar he remains with the city’s barbecue traditions. (People.com⁠) Returning to Ted’s roots The Kansas City setting also has deeper meaning for Ted. At the end of season 3, he returned home to be closer to his son, Henry. When Sudeikis initially considered the story complete, he felt Ted had already made his way back to Kansas City. Season 4 now begins from that point, with Ted once again balancing his life at home with his connection to AFC Richmond. Fans tuning in to Live with Kelly and Mark this week quickly noticed that Kelly Ripa was absent from her usual spot beside husband and co-host Mark Consuelos. Addressing viewers at the start of the show, Consuelos explained that Ripa is taking time off to recover from a painful gum graft surgery and is following strict medical advice as she heals.  Opening Monday’s episode alongside guest co-host Kevin Jonas, Consuelos reassured fans that Ripa is doing well despite the discomfort. “Kelly sends her love,” he said before revealing that she had recently undergone the dental procedure. He added that doctors have instructed her not to talk during her recovery, making it impossible for her to return to the show until she has healed properly.  According to Consuelos, Ripa’s dentist first recommended the surgery nearly five years ago. At the time, she decided to postpone it, joking that she did not think she would still be hosting the daytime talk show years later. Now, with the procedure finally behind her, she is focused on following every instruction to ensure a smooth recovery.  Although Ripa is known for having an exceptionally high tolerance for pain, Consuelos admitted that this surgery has been especially challenging for her. He shared that she has been limited to soft foods and has even been warned not to inspect the surgical area while it heals. The television host also joked that staying quiet might be the hardest part for his famously talkative wife.  With Ripa temporarily sidelined, Live with Kelly and Mark has welcomed a lineup of celebrity guest hosts. Kevin Jonas stepped in to co-host the first episodes of the week, while Mila Kunis, Pamela Adlon and Scott Foley are also scheduled to appear alongside Consuelos during Ripa’s absence. The rotating guest hosts will keep the show running until she is ready to return.  A gum graft is a common dental procedure used to treat receding gums by attaching healthy gum tissue to areas where it has thinned. While the surgery helps protect teeth and improve long-term oral health, recovery can take one to two weeks and often requires patients to avoid talking, strenuous activity and certain foods.  For now, Ripa is expected to remain off the air for about a week while she continues healing at home. Consuelos assured viewers that she appreciates all the well wishes and looks forward to returning once she has fully recovered. Until then, fans can expect her husband to keep them updated while steering the show with a series of special guest co-hosts.
