Mangudadatu scion wins Maguindanao del Sur 4th District BARMM seat

COTABATO CITY, Philippines – DJ Parok Mangudadatu, the nephew of Maguindanao del Sur Representative Esmael Mangudadatu, topped the electoral race for the Bangsamoro parliamentary seat of the province’s 4th District.

The younger Mangudadatu, a former Maguindanao provincial board member, obtained 64,054 or 94.24% of his district’s votes. This is according to Maguindanao del Sur’s total certificates of canvass on the Commission on Elections’ website.

This dwarfed the 3,914 votes of his opponent, Aladen Katog Delna, a former barangay chairman of Upper D’lag in Pandag.

Mangudadatu ran under the Bangsamoro Federalist Party, the party led by Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof “Sammy Gambar” Macacua.

Delna ran as a candidate of the Bangsamoro Party, which is affiliated with the Moro National Liberation Front, and is led by Bangsamoro Minister for Labor and Employment Muslimin Sema.

Mangudadatu is the son of Buluan Mayor Ibrahim Mangudadatu and the brother of Buluan Councilor Baby Dhats Mangudadatu. His father is the brother of Esmael Mangudadatu. – Rappler.com
