Fauzia Haimani finishes fourth Ironman challenge

Fauzia Haimani has done it again. The Pakistani athlete, who is based in Canada, has completed her fourth full Ironman triathlon. This latest finish came at the Ironman event held in Ottawa, where she once again showed off her fitness and endurance.

The Ironman is widely considered one of the toughest challenges in endurance sports. It is not a single race. It is three gruelling events combined into one long day. Athletes start with a 3.8-kilometre swim. From there, they move straight into a 180-kilometre cycling stretch. The event then wraps up with a full 42.2-kilometre marathon. All three legs happen back to back, with no rest days in between.

Completing all three takes serious physical and mental preparation. Fauzia finished the entire course in 15 hours, 22 minutes, and 35 seconds. Her swim alone took 1 hour and 45 minutes. She then moved on to cycling, completing that portion in 7 hours and 7 minutes. The final stretch, the marathon, took her 6 hours and 11 minutes to finish.

This is not new territory for her. Fauzia has completed the full Ironman challenge three times before this latest finish. She first did it in 2021. She returned to complete it again in 2024, and once more in 2025. That makes this her fourth full Ironman overall.

Her endurance résumé does not stop there. Alongside the full Ironman races, Fauzia has also completed the half Ironman challenge five separate times. Together, these accomplishments paint the picture of an athlete who has built real consistency in one of the most demanding sports out there.

Events like these require months of training. Long swims, long rides, and long runs all need to be built up gradually. Athletes also have to manage nutrition, pacing, and recovery carefully to make it through such a demanding single-day event.

Fauzia’s latest finish adds another achievement to her growing list. It also reflects the kind of discipline and determination it takes to keep coming back to one of the hardest physical challenges an athlete can attempt.

Her continued participation in international endurance events also highlights the presence of Pakistani athletes on demanding global sporting stages, even outside more commonly covered sports.

Nicholas Hoult joins HBO’s Harry Potter as Gilderoy Lockhart

Nicholas Hoult is stepping into the magical world of Hogwarts, taking on the role of the charming but self-obsessed Professor Gilderoy Lockhart in HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series. The casting news was confirmed by HBO Max on Tuesday, August 11, adding another high-profile name to the growing ensemble of the highly anticipated reboot. Hoult will portray the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor in the show’s second season, succeeding Kenneth Branagh, who played the character in the original 2002 film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Gilderoy Lockhart is introduced in the second Harry Potter story as a celebrated wizard who joins Hogwarts as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Known for his confidence, charm and flamboyant personality, Lockhart has gained fame for writing books about his supposed heroic achievements. However, his public image is far more impressive than his actual abilities. Throughout the story, his exaggerated claims and lack of competence become increasingly apparent, making him one of the more memorable and comedic characters in the Harry Potter universe. Hoult’s addition further strengthens the star-studded cast of HBO’s new adaptation. The series features John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall and Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy. The young stars leading the new generation of Hogwarts students include Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. Their casting has generated significant interest as audiences prepare to see the beloved story retold for television. Production on the series began in July 2025, with the first season scheduled to premiere on HBO Max on December 25. The adaptation is expected to explore J.K. Rowling’s original books in greater detail than the films, allowing more room for characters, storylines and events that were previously condensed or omitted. The Harry Potter franchise, however, continues to face controversy because of Rowling’s public comments about transgender issues. The author has faced criticism since 2020 over remarks that many viewed as transphobic. Rowling has rejected that characterization and has maintained that her views are focused on women’s rights. Despite the controversy surrounding the author, Rowling remains involved with the television adaptation as an executive producer. For Hoult, the Harry Potter role comes after another major franchise appearance. The actor recently portrayed Lex Luthor in James Gunn’s Superman and is expected to return as the iconic villain in the upcoming sequel, Man of Tomorrow, scheduled for release in 2027. Hoult is also set to appear in How to Rob a Bank, which is slated for release on November 13, adding another major project to his increasingly busy film and television career.

Now, during a recent event covered by NewsX, Akanksha addressed questions about her divorce and confirmed that the separation is indeed taking place. She clarified that the decision was not a recent development and had actually been made well before she entered Lock Upp Season 2. According to Akanksha, the divorce process had already begun before Gaurav participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi. However, the couple has not yet completed the formalities because their busy professional schedules have made it difficult for them to find the right time to sit together and sign the necessary documents. Akanksha explained that life can be particularly complicated for actors, especially when both partners are working and trying to manage demanding schedules. She suggested that despite their decision to separate, completing the legal process has taken longer than expected because of their conflicting commitments. The actress further revealed that she and Gaurav had spent considerable time thinking about their relationship before reaching the decision to end their marriage. She said the decision was made around two months before she entered Lock Upp, while also placing it before Gaurav’s stint on Khatron Ke Khiladi. Akanksha explained that the couple did not arrive at the decision suddenly. Instead, they took around 18 months to understand their relationship and determine whether they could continue their marriage. After spending that time reflecting on their future together, they eventually concluded that the relationship was no longer working for them. Her latest comments provide further clarity about the couple’s separation and indicate that the divorce is now expected to be completed once they are able to manage their schedules and finish the required formalities. Akanksha’s decision to speak about the matter publicly has also given fans a clearer understanding of why the divorce process has taken time, while making it clear that the separation was a carefully considered decision rather than a sudden development.

YouTubers receive legal notices over negative Toxic reviews

Yash’s much-awaited film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has found itself at the centre of a legal controversy shortly after its theatrical release. While the film has been receiving mixed to negative reactions from audiences and critics, several YouTubers and social media influencers who posted critical reviews have reportedly received legal notices from representatives of the film’s production team. The controversy comes just days after the makers obtained an ex-parte interim injunction from a Bengaluru court. The order restricts the publication and circulation of content that is considered false or defamatory against the film. The development has now drawn attention to the difference between a legal notice and an actual court order, particularly as reviewers continue to discuss their experiences online. One of the reviewers who publicly revealed receiving a notice is YouTuber Suraj Kumar. He shared a screenshot of the legal communication on social media. The notice was issued by Bengaluru-based Aiplex Software, which stated that it was acting on behalf of KVN-Monster Mind Creations LLP, the production company behind Toxic. The notice reportedly referred to a review uploaded by Suraj on the day the film was released. It alleged that his review had been published, circulated, shared, posted or otherwise communicated online. Despite receiving the notice, Suraj did not remove his review. Instead, he shared the legal notice with his followers and responded with a sarcastic caption thanking the Toxic team for taking legal action over his review. Another reviewer who has spoken about receiving a similar notice is Tamil YouTuber Prashanth Rangaswamy. He also took to social media to reveal that he had received a legal notice concerning his review of the film. His post expressed disappointment over the development and questioned the decision to take legal action against reviewers who had expressed negative opinions about the movie. Reports also suggest that an influencer on X received a similar notice after uploading a negative review in Tamil. The notices appear to have been sent as part of the production team’s wider effort to address online content surrounding the film. According to the legal communication, Aiplex has been authorised to represent the producers for a specific period, from July 13 through September 26. During this period, the company can reportedly issue takedown requests and approach online platforms, internet service providers and search engines regarding allegedly objectionable material connected to the film. However, receiving a legal notice does not automatically mean that a reviewer has been found guilty of defamation. The court order is a separate matter. The interim injunction was granted on August 22 by Bengaluru’s Additional City Civil and Sessions Court and specifically concerns content alleged to be false or defamatory. The order is temporary and is expected to remain in force until the next hearing, scheduled for September 28. This is not the first time Aiplex has been involved in disputes concerning online film reviews. Telugu YouTuber Sushant had previously accused the company of using copyright-related strikes against critical movie reviews during opening weekends, adding another layer to the ongoing discussion about how film criticism is handled online. Meanwhile, Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, features Yash in the lead role alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara and other prominent actors. The film had generated considerable anticipation before its release, but its reception has reportedly been largely negative. The film’s box-office performance has also shown a significant decline after its opening day. Toxic reportedly earned around Rs 101 crore on its first day, while its collection fell sharply to approximately Rs 36 crore on the second day. The legal notices issued to reviewers have therefore become a major talking point alongside the film’s performance. As the court proceedings continue, the controversy has raised broader questions about the boundaries between film criticism, online opinions and allegedly defamatory content.

President Masoud Pezeshkian meets Supreme Leader M…

TEHRAN: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has held an important meeting with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei as speculation over the president’s future continues to attract attention amid heightened tensions with the United States and Israel. The meeting reportedly came as Pezeshkian entered the third year of his presidency. It also followed reports suggesting that the Iranian president was considering stepping down, claims he has rejected. Iranian authorities have previously dismissed resignation reports as unfounded, while Pezeshkian has publicly indicated that he intends to continue serving. According to statements attributed to Mojtaba Khamenei on social media, the discussions covered a wide range of economic, military and strategic issues facing Iran. Among the topics were the economic needs of ordinary Iranians, the country’s military situation, access to resources and management of the Iranian rial, foreign currency and energy costs. The two leaders also discussed economic relations with foreign partners and the wider implications of the confrontation with Washington and Israel. The meeting comes at a particularly sensitive moment for Tehran. Iran remains under pressure from the continuing regional conflict and economic difficulties, while efforts to engage Washington have faced repeated obstacles. The reported contact is also notable because Pezeshkian recently said that reaching Mojtaba Khamenei had been difficult, prompting speculation about the supreme leader’s health and whereabouts. Reports in recent days have offered conflicting accounts about how and where senior Iranian officials have been able to meet him. Meanwhile, Iran’s diplomatic efforts with the United States remain uncertain. According to the material cited by Iranian officials, negotiations have been reduced largely to messages exchanged through intermediaries after earlier attempts failed to produce a lasting agreement. The political backdrop has also been complicated by reported tensions between the presidency and powerful military-security institutions. Some reports have suggested disagreements over decision-making and the conduct of Iran’s response to the conflict, although details remain contested. Pezeshkian’s political position has therefore become a subject of renewed attention. He was elected president in July 2024 following the death of former President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash. Mojtaba Khamenei, meanwhile, became Iran’s supreme leader in March 2026 following the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, during the conflict. Against this backdrop, the latest meeting between the president and supreme leader carries significance beyond routine government business, particularly as Iran confronts economic pressures, military uncertainty and difficult relations with Washington. For now, however, Pezeshkian remains in office, while reports of his resignation have been publicly rejected.
