Thailand’s Second Army Area Command imposed the ban on all fuels and military materiel, effective from midnight, citing security concerns linked to escalating clashes on the Thai-Cambodian border.

Immigration officials reported that a recent, suspicious surge in fuel truck traffic raised alarms that the exports could be diverted to support Cambodian military operations.

Military authorities provided data underscoring the dramatic increase, noting that 180 fuel trucks were authorized for export in the first five days of fighting, which began on December 7. This figure starkly contrasts with the 281 trucks that crossed during the entire month of November.

During his speech, his comments about soldiers and martyrdom sparked widespread criticism from political leaders and members of the public. Several politicians described the remarks as inappropriate and called on the JUI-F chief to publicly clarify or withdraw his statement. They maintained that the sacrifices of soldiers should not become part of political debate and should always be treated with respect. Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan strongly criticised the remarks and urged Fazlur Rehman to issue a public apology. The controversy has continued to dominate political discussions, with leaders from different parties expressing contrasting views over the issue.
