Hua Hin marathon start times announced as 3,500 runners expected
Start times for the Hua Hin Marathon 2026 have been confirmed, with organisers expecting more than 3,500 runners to take part in the annual race on Sunday, 10 May. The event will include four race distances and aims to raise funds for environmental conservation in the city.
Details were announced during a press conference held on Wednesday at Hua Hin City Municipality, chaired by Prachuap Khiri Khan Deputy Governor Preeda Sukjai. Also attending were Hua Hin City Mayor Nopporn Wutikul, Protect Hua Hin Club President Krit Rojanasathien, representatives from public and private organisations, event organisers and members of the media.
The Protect Hua Hin Club is organising the 20th edition of the “Protect Hua Hin Run”, alongside the sixth Hua Hin Marathon, with competitors racing for a royal trophy presented under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Proceeds from the event will support environmental protection initiatives within Hua Hin City Municipality, including conservation of the last remaining mangrove forest near Wat Khao Krailas.
The conservation area, covering around 12 rai, forms part of the “Krailas Ecosystem” project, which seeks to preserve coastal habitats and raise awareness of environmental issues in the local community.
Hua Hin marathon start times and race route
Both the start and finish lines will be located in front of Wat Khao Krailas. Organisers confirmed the following Hua Hin marathon start times for each race category:
• Marathon (42.195 kilometres) will start at 3:00am
• Half marathon (21 kilometres) will start at 5:00am
• Mini marathon (10.5 kilometres) will start at 5:30am
• Fun run (5 kilometres) will start at 5:45am
Runners in the full marathon will follow a route of more than 40 kilometres, passing several familiar landmarks including coastal roads, residential areas and sections of beach. The course begins near Wat Khao Krailas before heading towards Hua Don village and continuing along the cycling lane towards True Arena. Participants will then cross the flyover and run through parts of the town to the Bo Fai police post, before turning back along the same route.
Further along the course, runners will pass Khao Tao and enter Suan Son Pradipat, where they will cross the railway bridge and run approximately 1.4 kilometres along the beach before returning to the finish area. Shorter race distances will follow similar routes but with earlier turnaround points.
In addition to the races, organisers will stage a fancy dress competition under the theme “Love the Earth, Love Nature”. Participants are encouraged to wear environmentally themed costumes to help promote conservation messages.
This year’s event is expected to attract a wide range of runners, including local residents, participants from other provinces, members of running clubs such as Rao Wing Duay Kan, athletes with disabilities and international entrants.
