Hua Hin wins diamond drowning prevention award
Hua Hin Municipality has received a diamond-level drowning prevention award in recognition of its work to improve water safety and reduce the risk of drowning.
Mayor Nopporn Wutthikul accepted the Diamond-Level Drowning Prevention Team award from Public Health Minister Pattana Promphat during a ceremony at the Ministry of Public Health on Tuesday, 21 July.
The presentation was held in the Chainat Narenthon Conference Room.
Deputy mayors Atichart Chaisri and Sanphop Ungrasamee also attended, along with Chief Petty Officer First Class Tassanee Choksuchart, head of health promotion at the municipality’s Public Health and Environment Division, and members of the municipal drowning prevention team.
Water safety training in Hua Hin
The Hua Hin drowning prevention award recognises the municipality’s cooperation with government agencies, community groups and partner organisations to improve public understanding of water safety.
Its work has included training for children, young people and other residents, covering survival skills, assistance for people involved in water-related accidents and ways to reduce drowning risks.
The municipality has also developed a team of drowning prevention instructors and established local networks to support water safety programmes across the area.
Officials said the award reflected the municipality’s continued focus on practical drowning prevention measures and improving public health and safety standards.
Hua Hin Municipality said it would continue providing water safety education and training to help people of all ages develop the skills needed to prevent accidents and respond to emergencies.
