Pa La-U Waterfall offers a cool escape in April heat
Kaeng Krachan National Park is inviting visitors to cool off at Pa La-U Waterfall this April, offering a natural escape from rising temperatures with shaded forest surroundings and clear pools filled with fish.
The invitation was highlighted on 8 April by Nitat Noonsong, Director of the Protected Areas Regional Office 3 (Phetchaburi branch), who encouraged residents and visitors to consider Pa La-U Waterfall as a place to relax during the hot season. Located in Huai Sat Yai, Hua Hin, the site is known for its flowing water, forest setting, and accessibility for a range of visitors.
Water flows across multiple tiers of natural rock, forming a series of pools where visitors can sit, paddle, or swim. Fish can often be seen moving through the clear water, adding to the appeal of the area. Surrounding forest provides shade and cooler conditions compared to urban areas.
Visiting Pa La-U Waterfall
Pa La-U Waterfall is situated within Kaeng Krachan National Park, around 60 kilometres from Hua Hin. The waterfall has 15 tiers, with the lower levels being the most accessible. Levels one to three are suitable for general visitors and families, as they can be reached without steep climbing.
The seventh tier is considered one of the most visually striking, with a larger pool surrounded by dense forest. Accessing higher levels requires navigating steeper terrain, and visitors are advised to seek assistance from park officials if planning to continue beyond the lower tiers.
The area also supports a range of wildlife. Monkeys, langurs, and gibbons are commonly seen, along with a variety of bird species. Butterflies are also present in significant numbers, particularly in the early morning when temperatures are lower.
Park officials have asked visitors to follow guidelines, including disposing of waste properly, adhering to safety advice, and checking weather conditions before travelling.
Entrance fees are set at 30 baht for Thai children and 60 baht for Thai adults. Foreign visitors are charged 150 baht for children and 300 baht for adults. Additional fees apply for camping and vehicles.
