Pattaya City Interviews Final Candidates for Outstanding Benefactors of the Year 2026
PATTAYA, July 27th, 2026 – Mr. Damrongkiat Pinijkarn, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City, today chaired interviews for candidates seeking selection as Outstanding Benefactors of the Year 2026 in two additional categories. The session took place at 1:00 p.m. in Meeting Room 221 of Pattaya City Hall, with the selection committee and relevant officials in attendance.
The Community Development Division of the Social Welfare Office is organizing the Outstanding Benefactors of the Year 2026 project. Its goals are to honor, recognize, and boost the morale of individuals, children, youth, and organizations that have contributed to the public good and supported Pattaya City activities.
Applications and supporting documents were accepted from 9 to 30 June 2026. A total of 39 candidates applied across the following categories:
– Outstanding Benefactor in Social Affairs (Individual): 25 applicants
– Outstanding Benefactor in Social Affairs (Children and Youth in Pattaya City): 9 applicants
– Outstanding Benefactor in Local Wisdom or Folk Expertise (Individual): 2 applicants
– Outstanding Benefactor in the Use of Technology and Media for Society (Individual): 1 applicant
– Outstanding Benefactor in Promoting Morality, Ethics, or Local Customs and Traditions (Community/Organization/Agency): 2 applicants
On 23 July, interviews were held for three categories: Social Affairs (Individual), Local Wisdom or Folk Expertise (Individual), and Use of Technology and Media for Society (Individual). Today’s interviews covered the remaining two categories, Social Affairs (Children and Youth in Pattaya City) and Promoting Morality, Ethics, or Local Customs and Traditions (Community/Organization/Agency).
The committee evaluates candidates based on qualities that make them positive role models for the public. These include continuous self-sacrifice and dedication of personal time for the benefit of others and society; providing assistance or donating personal resources for the common good; contributing to the community and society; supporting local ethics, culture, and traditions; sustained work in social welfare with clear and outstanding achievements recognized by the community; living a life of moral integrity and value; and practicing the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy successfully enough to serve as an example to others.
Deputy Mayor Damrongkiat Pinijkarn and the committee will carefully consider the candidates to select the most suitable individuals and organizations as role models for the public. An awards ceremony presenting plaques of honor and certificates of recognition to the selected recipients is scheduled for September.
