Pattaya Prepares for First Ever Sand & Art Festival 2026 at the End of This Month
PATTAYA, August 11th, 2026 – Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City Kritsana Boonsawat chaired a preparatory meeting for the Pattaya Sand & Art Festival 2026 at 1:30 p.m. today in Meeting Room 221 at Pattaya City Hall.
Attendees included the mayor’s assistant secretary, Pattaya City Council members, the council president’s assistant secretary, heads of relevant municipal departments, and representatives from partner organizations. Officials from the Pattaya Business and Tourism Association of Chonburi and Central Pattaya shopping center presented details on the event format.
Pattaya City, along with the Pattaya Business and Tourism Association of Chonburi, will host the festival from August 27th to the 31st, 2026, along Pattaya Beach in front of Central Pattaya. The event is to promote creative tourism and position Pattaya as an international destination for beachside art and lifestyle. It will feature contemporary sand art that blends sand with natural materials, design elements, and creative presentation technology.
The meeting addressed key logistical arrangements, including the venue setup, on-site electrical systems, security, traffic management and facilitation, medical services (including staff, ambulances, and emergency vehicles), sanitation, mobile toilets, waste management, and public relations efforts.
This marks the first edition of the Pattaya Sand & Art Festival, themed “From One Grain, Endless Creativity.” The concept draws inspiration from a single grain of sand to create contemporary artworks that capture the unique charms of Pattaya and Thailand’s four regions. The program differs from traditional sand sculpture displays and will include the Pattaya Sand Art Installation, live sand art performances, workshops, and creative activities suitable for people of all ages. These elements seek to develop artistic learning and offer visitors a fresh tourism experience.
Deputy Mayor Kritsana Boonsawat expressed confidence that the festival will become a significant event that strengthens Pattaya’s image as a Creative Beach Art Destination. He noted that it is expected to attract both Thai and international tourists, stimulate travel and spending, and distribute income to local businesses, contributing to sustainable economic and tourism growth. He expressed the need for comprehensive publicity across all communication channels and requested that attendees park at Central Pattaya to help ease traffic congestion.
The deputy mayor invited the public and tourists to experience the beauty of contemporary sand sculptures at this new Pattaya beach landmark during the Pattaya Sand & Art Festival 2026, held August 27–31, 2026, on Pattaya Beach in front of Central Pattaya. Admission is free, with peak viewing hours from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
