Prachuap trade event targets 5m baht in overseas deals
A Prachuap trade event connecting local businesses with overseas buyers is expected to generate commercial deals worth at least 5 million baht.
Deputy Governor Apinya Iam-ampha opened the “Prachuap Khiri Khan to Global Trade Business Matching 2026” event at Prachuap Grand Hotel in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan district on Wednesday, August 5.
More than 30 provincial businesses presented products to representatives from over 30 companies in China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Laos and the Middle East.
Ms Apinya said the province had strong commercial potential in agriculture, seafood and community-made goods. Products presented at the event included processed agricultural produce, frozen seafood, spa items and products made under Thailand’s OTOP programme.
However, she said many local operators had limited opportunities to reach international markets or negotiate directly with major buyers.

The event was organised as part of a provincial programme to strengthen local businesses, improve their competitiveness and expand international trade channels during the 2026 fiscal year.
It also provided information on modern investment, trade and export practices, including digital marketing and cross-border e-commerce. Organisers said these tools could help businesses develop commercial networks, improve product standards and build consumer confidence.
The province expects at least 30 business matches to be made through the event, with agreements valued at no less than 5 million baht.
Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Commerce Chief Siriwan Khanasorn attended alongside government officials, private-sector representatives, investors, trade delegates and local business operators.
