Ryan Gosling to produce major live-action ‘Flintstones’ project

Ryan Gosling and Warner Bros. are set to produce a new live action project based on the popular animated series The Flintstones.

According to Deadline, Gosling and his production partner Jessie Henderson will produce the project, which is currently being developed and is out to writers.

Although details of the project are being kept under wraps, sources told Deadline that the filmmakers are expected to focus on the character Bamm-Bamm Rubble.

The Flintstones first debuted in 1960 as an animated series in primetime. The show featured Fred and Wilma Flintstone, their daughter Pebbles, and their friends Barney and Betty Rubble and their young son, Bamm-Bamm.

Bamm-Bamm first appeared in the animated series in 1963 as the adopted son of Barney and Betty Rubble. The character later became a central part of the franchise and was featured alongside Pebbles in The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show, which premiered in 1971.

The series followed the adventures of the Flintstones and the Rubbles in the fictional prehistoric town of Bedrock. Despite its Stone Age setting, the show was known for incorporating themes and situations inspired by modern family and social life.

The franchise has previously been adapted for the big screen. In 1994, The Flintstones live-action movie was released, starring John Goodman as Fred Flintstone, Rick Moranis as Barney Rubble and Elizabeth Perkins as Wilma Flintstone. Bamm-Bamm was played by twin brothers Hlynur and Marino.

The 1994 film became a major commercial success despite receiving mixed reviews and helped introduce the classic animated characters to a new generation of audiences.

A second live-action film, The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, was released in 2000. Serving as a prequel to the 1994 movie, it featured a different cast and focused on the younger versions of Fred, Wilma, Barney and Betty.

The new project marks another attempt to bring the beloved animated franchise to live action, although further details about the storyline, cast and release date have not yet been revealed.

Meanwhile, Gosling and Henderson are also producing the upcoming romantic drama The Love of Your Life. The film stars Margaret Qualley, Aaron Pierre, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Gabriel Basso and Catherine Keener.

The movie is expected to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month, adding another major production to Gosling and Henderson’s growing slate of projects.

Ryan Gosling set to produce live-action Flintstones movie

Ryan Gosling is stepping into another major Hollywood project, this time entering the prehistoric world of one of animation’s most recognizable families. The Barbie star is reportedly in the early stages of developing a live-action movie based on The Flintstones for Warner Bros., with his Open Invite producing partner Jessie Henderson also attached to the project. The upcoming film is expected to offer a fresh take on the classic animated franchise rather than simply retelling the original story. According to reports, the project will center on Bamm-Bamm Rubble, the famously strong and energetic son of Barney and Betty Rubble. The character has been a memorable part of The Flintstones universe since the original animated series, and the new film could explore what his life looks like as an adult. While the project has generated interest because of Gosling’s involvement, it is still in the early development stage. The producers are currently looking for a writer who can shape the story and bring the concept to the big screen. No director or additional cast members have been confirmed at this stage, meaning many details about the live-action adaptation remain under wraps. Gosling’s involvement marks another ambitious addition to his growing list of Hollywood projects. Alongside his acting career, the 45-year-old actor has increasingly taken on producing responsibilities, including through his partnership with Henderson. Their next producing collaboration is Love of Your Life, a romantic drama directed by Rachel Morrison. The film is scheduled to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month and is expected to attract attention as another major project from the pair. Meanwhile, Gosling also remains connected to the possibility of returning to the world of Barbie. Discussions surrounding a potential sequel to the hugely successful 2023 movie have reportedly been complicated by negotiations over compensation. The original film, directed by Greta Gerwig and written by Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, became a global phenomenon and featured Gosling alongside Margot Robbie. Although plans for a follow-up have reportedly faced delays, interest in another Barbie movie remains high. Gosling’s portrayal of Ken became one of the most talked-about aspects of the original film, earning him widespread praise and further establishing his versatility as an actor. Gosling has also had a successful year with Project Hail Mary, his major 2026 science-fiction release. The movie attracted audiences internationally and added another commercially successful title to his filmography. Its strong reception has only increased anticipation surrounding his future projects. With The Flintstones now reportedly entering development, Gosling appears set to continue exploring a wide range of genres and characters. A live-action story centered on an adult Bamm-Bamm could give the classic franchise a modern direction while introducing the beloved character to a new generation. However, fans will have to wait for further announcements before the project moves forward. With a writer still being sought and no official production timeline revealed, the live-action Flintstones movie remains in its early stages. If Gosling and Henderson succeed in bringing the concept together, the project could become another high-profile addition to Warner Bros.’ growing slate of franchise films.

Internet hilariously pairs Rajab Butt with Dr Nabiha Ali Khan

Pakistani social media users have found a new topic of discussion after internet personalities Rajab Butt and Dr Nabiha Ali Khan became the centre of a wave of humorous posts linking their personal lives. Rajab Butt is one of Pakistan’s most-followed YouTubers, known for sharing family vlogs and lifestyle content with millions of viewers. Over the years, he has frequently made headlines not only for his online content but also for controversies surrounding legal matters and his personal life. In recent months, much of the public attention has focused on his marriage with Emaan Fatima. Reports, speculation and discussions about the couple’s relationship, including rumours of separation and reconciliation, have kept the pair in the spotlight across social media platforms. Meanwhile, Dr Nabiha Ali Khan has also remained a trending figure due to the highly publicised developments in her relationship with Haris Khokhar. Their marriage has repeatedly attracted attention because of reports involving marital disputes, a khula, divorce proceedings and later reconciliation. Dr Nabiha has also addressed various aspects of her personal life in interviews, making her relationship a frequent topic of online conversation. With both personalities regularly making headlines over their relationships, social media users recently began jokingly connecting the two in a series of viral posts. The discussion started after an X (formerly Twitter) user shared a light-hearted suggestion that Rajab Butt and Dr Nabiha Ali Khan should marry each other, claiming that neither appeared satisfied in their current relationships. Although the post was clearly intended as humour, it quickly gained traction and sparked thousands of reactions from other users. The suggestion spread rapidly across social media, with many people adding their own jokes and memes. Users flooded the comment sections with witty remarks, turning the viral post into a trending conversation. One user jokingly referred to the pair as “Yajooj Majooj,” using the comparison to exaggerate the idea in a humorous way. Another commented that they would be “a couple made in hell,” while someone else wrote that “they deserve each other.” Many other users continued the trend by sharing memes, sarcastic comments and edited images, with the conversation becoming more about entertainment than serious discussion. The viral reactions once again highlighted how quickly social media users turn celebrity news into online humour. Relationship updates involving well-known influencers often become the subject of memes, especially when those personalities are already frequent topics of public debate. Neither Rajab Butt nor Dr Nabiha Ali Khan has responded to the viral posts or the jokes circulating online. The discussion appears to have been driven entirely by social media users and does not reflect any real connection between the two personalities. As with many viral internet trends, the conversation has largely been based on speculation and humour rather than facts. While many users treated the posts as harmless entertainment, others pointed out that public figures’ personal lives often become the focus of excessive online scrutiny. For now, the viral pairing remains nothing more than a social media joke. However, it has once again demonstrated how quickly internet culture can transform ongoing celebrity controversies into trending memes, with thousands of users joining the conversation through humorous comments, reactions and viral posts.

Hrithik Roshan recalls father’s financial crisis after Koyla setback

Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan has opened up about one of the most emotional periods in his family’s life, recalling the financial difficulties his father, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, faced following the commercial disappointment of Shah Rukh Khan’s 1997 film Koyla. The 52-year-old actor recently spoke about his father’s struggles and revealed that there was a time when Rakesh Roshan lost a significant portion of the money he had earned throughout his career. According to Hrithik, the setback was severe enough to create financial difficulties for the family and left a lasting impression on him. Recalling the difficult period, Hrithik said he still remembers a particular morning when he saw his father with tears in his eyes for the first time. The actor explained that Rakesh Roshan had told him that he had lost all the money he had earned. For Hrithik, witnessing his father in such a vulnerable state was an experience he could never forget. He described the moment as extremely emotional because he had never previously seen his father so broken and distressed. Rakesh Roshan had produced Koyla under his production banner Filmkraft Productions. The action thriller featured Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles, alongside Amrish Puri, Deepa Sahi, Ashok Saraf, Johnny Lever and several other prominent actors. Released in 1997, Koyla revolved around Shankar, played by Shah Rukh Khan, a mute and loyal coal miner who works in a coal mine. The film combined action, romance and drama and was one of the major productions associated with Rakesh Roshan’s production house at the time. Despite its scale and star-studded cast, the film failed to achieve the level of commercial success that had been expected. It was reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 12 crore and earned approximately Rs 28 crore worldwide. Although the film recovered a significant amount at the box office, its overall commercial performance was considered disappointing in relation to its investment and expectations. The experience became an important chapter in Hrithik Roshan’s understanding of his father’s professional and personal journey. Years later, the actor has established himself as one of Bollywood’s leading stars, while Rakesh Roshan has continued to remain an influential filmmaker and producer. The father-son duo is now preparing to return to the superhero franchise that has been closely associated with their careers. Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan are currently involved in preparations for Krrish 4, the next installment in the popular superhero series. Hrithik’s recent recollection offers a rare glimpse into the challenges his family faced behind the glamour of Bollywood and highlights the personal impact that professional setbacks can have, even on established filmmakers.

Was Celeste Rivas pregnant? DA reveals detail in D4vd case

A key clarification has emerged in the murder case against singer D4vd, as the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that Celeste Rivas Hernandez was not pregnant at the time of her death, putting to rest speculation that surfaced during recent court proceedings. The clarification follows widespread discussion after prosecutors presented text messages during a preliminary hearing showing that Rivas had previously become pregnant in 2024, when she was 13 years old, and later underwent an abortion. The disclosure led to online speculation that she may have also been pregnant when she died in April 2025. According to the District Attorney’s Office, investigators do not believe Rivas was pregnant at the time of her death. Prosecutors shared the update with People on July 29, explaining that the clarification was issued after an amendment to her death certificate had changed the pregnancy section from “no” to “unknown,” creating confusion about her medical status. The murder case centres on David Anthony Burke, the singer professionally known as D4vd, who has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14 and unlawful mutilation of human remains. During the preliminary hearing, prosecutors introduced text messages exchanged between Burke and Rivas regarding the earlier pregnancy. In one message, Rivas wrote, “Both of us aren’t able to take care of it,” while Burke replied, “I know but still.” Prosecutors presented the messages as part of their evidence during the hearing. Court proceedings also included testimony from investigators and forensic experts as prosecutors argued there was sufficient evidence for the case to proceed to trial. The hearing focused on determining whether enough evidence existed to hold Burke over for trial rather than deciding guilt or innocence. Earlier this week, a Los Angeles judge ruled that prosecutors had presented enough evidence for Burke to stand trial on the charges. The decision came after several days of testimony and the presentation of forensic, digital and documentary evidence by the prosecution. Rivas’ remains were discovered in September 2025 inside the trunk of a Tesla linked to Burke. Authorities later ruled her death a homicide, leading to Burke’s arrest in April 2026. He remains in custody after pleading not guilty to all charges filed against him. The District Attorney’s latest clarification specifically addresses speculation surrounding Rivas’ pregnancy status, confirming that while the teenager had previously experienced a pregnancy more than a year before her death, she was not pregnant when she was killed. Prosecutors said the earlier text messages and abortion were unrelated to her medical condition at the time of her death. The criminal case against Burke will now move forward after the judge’s ruling, with further proceedings expected in the coming weeks as prosecutors continue pursuing the charges against the singer.

Lionel Richie takes a dig at Chris Brown during co…

Lionel Richie has sparked a conversation among music fans after taking a pointed swipe at Chris Brown and Usher during one of his recent concerts. The 77-year-old music legend made the comments while performing with Earth, Wind & Fire in Phoenix on August 11. During the show, Richie compared the current R&B tour featuring Brown and Usher with the tours he performed decades ago with the Commodores and Earth, Wind & Fire. (People.com) Richie suggested that Brown and Usher were not doing something completely new by bringing two major R&B performers together for a large-scale tour. He pointed out that the Commodores and Earth, Wind & Fire had already been performing major joint shows about four decades ago. However, Richie’s comparison took a sharper turn when he referenced the legal troubles surrounding Brown. He joked that the biggest difference between his generation and today’s artists was that his group members had not gone to jail. The comment appeared to be a reference to Brown’s past legal issues. (Billboard) The remark quickly spread online, with clips from Richie’s concert gaining attention across social media. While some fans viewed the moment as an amusing example of the veteran singer defending his generation’s legacy, others debated whether the joke went too far. Richie later appeared to soften the tone of his comments. He described both Brown and Usher as “fine Christian men” and suggested that the internet often creates unnecessary controversy around celebrities. (People.com) Brown, for his part, did not appear to take the comment too seriously. The singer responded on Instagram with a playful message directed at Richie, calling him “paw paw” and adding laughing emojis. His reaction suggested that he viewed the exchange more as friendly teasing than a serious feud. (TMZ) The comments come as Brown and Usher continue their joint R&B stadium tour, which launched earlier this year. The collaboration has attracted considerable attention because both singers are major figures in modern R&B, with their careers spanning different eras of the genre. Richie’s own career gives him plenty of experience with massive R&B performances. As a member of the Commodores and later as a solo artist, he became one of the most recognizable voices in popular music. For now, there is no indication of a serious feud between the three singers. Instead, Richie’s remarks and Brown’s playful response appear to have created an unexpected exchange between two generations of R&B stars.
