Thai Oil Marks 65th Anniversary with 252 Scholarships and Walkway Canopy for Laem Chabang Hospital
SRI RACHA, Thailand – Thai Oil Group marked its 65th anniversary by continuing its social responsibility initiatives, awarding 252 scholarships for the 2026 academic year, supporting school development funds, and handing over a newly constructed walkway canopy at Laem Chabang Hospital. The company reaffirmed its vision of growing its business in tandem with sustainable development in education and public health.
On August 3rd, 2026, Mr. Phongphan Amorwiwat, Chief Executive Officer and President of Thai Oil Public Company Limited, presided over the ceremony held at the Auditorium of Thai Oil Conference Hall in Sri Racha District, Chonburi Province. Distinguished guests included Ms. Jinda Thanomrod, Mayor of Laem Chabang City Municipality; Mr. Boonlert Nomsil, former Mayor of Laem Chabang Subdistrict Municipality; Mr. Surachai Khamsri, Deputy District Chief of Si Racha; Ms. Natthanan Daengriangram, Director of the Educational Administration Promotion Group, Chonburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sathaporn Chueapeng, Vice President of Kasetsart University, Si Racha Campus; Mr. Paiboon Sermsat, President of the Si Racha Media Association; as well as school administrators, teachers, community leaders and network partners.

The scholarship program is a long-standing Thai Oil Group initiative that provides educational opportunities to well-behaved and motivated young people. This year, the company awarded 252 scholarships covering primary, secondary, vocational and higher education levels.
In addition, Thai Oil presented 12 funds to enhance the capacity of educational institutions. The group has continuously supported vocational institutes and universities from 2018 to 2026, with a combined value exceeding 12 million baht per year. It also offers internship opportunities within the organization to equip students with professional experience and serves as a learning resource for educational institutions and agencies nationwide.

Employee organizations within the group, including the Thai Oil Alumni Association, Thai Oil Savings Cooperative Limited, the Southern Club of Thai Oil Group, the Thai Oil Refinery Labor Union, and Thai Oil Cooperative Store Limited, contributed additional funds to ease the financial burden on parents and strengthen ties between the organization and the community.
On the public health front, Thai Oil constructed and officially handed over a covered walkway connecting the parking area to the main building of Laem Chabang Hospital. The structure is to improve convenience for patients and visitors by providing protection from sun and rain while enhancing pedestrian safety. Assoc. Prof. (Special) Dr. Suphot Phuanglamyai, Director of Laem Chabang Hospital, received the project on behalf of the hospital.

Thai Oil Group has supported Laem Chabang Hospital continuously over the years, with total contributions exceeding 170 million baht. Past projects include the construction and handover of the five-storey “Thai Oil Building” housing the Accident and Emergency Department in celebration of the company’s 50th anniversary; installation of a rooftop solar power system to reduce electricity costs; improvement of internal road surfaces using environmentally friendly asphalt technology; and an ongoing preventive oral health promotion program conducted jointly with the hospital since 2010. These efforts have contributed to better oral health among local youth and greater awareness of proper hygiene practices.
