A Look at google ‘Pixel Tag’ could finally launch as AirTag rival
Google will unveil the Pixel 11 series of phones in two weeks. The Pixel Watch 5 is also likely to join in the fun, but a third gadget might make a cameo at the Made by Google event.
Though I’d rather this new category for Google was a Fitbit smart ring, it’s likely to come in the form of a Bluetooth tracker. The news got hidden when the Pixel 11 series leaked in all colours but the listings spotted on Amazon mentioned a ‘Google Pixel Tag’ as a compatible accessory for the phones.
No device currently exists and the listing revealed nothing further about the Pixel Tag but rumours of a possible tracker have done the rounds for years so Google may finally be making its own.
You’d think it would be a no-brainer for Google, considering the Android maker has its own Find Hub where you can track friends and family as well as your devices.

This would be a perfect accessory to its Pixel phones and help temp people into the Android ecosystem. It would rival the Apple AirTag 2 as well as trackers from the likes of Motorola, Samsung, Tile and more.
Google hasn’t teased the device as part of the launch, but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen. What’s more worrying is the lack of leaks and the device being spotted in regulatory listings this close to a potential launch.
We have our fingers crossed and we’ll find out either way on 12 August.
