that the paint might be taken off. It will be donated to a museum for all to enjoy.”

“Toyota really built them well back in the day. Not only that, but they’re not too big, not too small and look good. New owner will be happy. GLWTA”

“I own the same car, even down to the 1592 twin cam and automatic transmission. It was built 6,028 cars later than this one, currently has 178,408 miles, and is our daily driver. I got it from the original owner’s family, and am technically the 4th caretaker. Since I also specialize in Fiats, I have serviced it mostly from new.
We take it on club tours, and it’s comfortable at an indicated 70+ mph. In 2024 we won worst in class at the concours d’lemons in Seaside California, and last year we…”

    “Thanks gang! A bit numb…
Promise to take great care of it. Lots of VW in my past but I won’t bore you other than to say this one wraps them all into one, and erases all regret for every sale (including my last…a Corrado in ‘04)
To all the caretakers and @seller…Thank You!”

“My Dad had a ‘61 in this color and with roof rack. VW advertised they would float. I was 15 and a friend and I tried to drive it in a local reservoir that was just being impounded. It did float but wouldn’t steer and bogged down due to back pressure. Crawled out window and pushed it back to shore. Cranked it watching pea shooters squirt water. It cranked up. We drove it until the floorboards were dry. Did not tell Dad until 10 years later. He couldn’t kill me then, I had kids of my own”

“Styling of this era Accord still looks fresh to my eyes. If it ends up on display at a Honda dealer showroom, will it make customers think, “God, new cars sure are ugly now.” But then again, I may be biased. My daily drivers are 35-year old Hondas.”

“These cars are just great. I bought a 2024 manual on a whim last year and have zero regrets. They do it all so well. My fair weather daily drivers last summer were this Golf, a 2018 GT3 Touring, and my venerable 993. For regular use, the Golf is ~80% of the fun of the GT3 for 20% of the money. Sold the GT3 shortly thereafter just because I prefer the Golf. Will never sell the 993, though.”

“My heart skipped a beat when I saw this. My first job out of college was working for TDM in Livonia MI which later became Wheel to Wheel a prototype shop for GM’s Jon Moss. We built a 383 6spd SS with a rollcage for GM Special Vehicles to do high speed testing at MIS. I don’t think this is that car but always wondered what happened to it and many others. Great first engineering job for a young gear head.”

“Having owned a few examples of every iteration of the VW bus, I consider the 1978 to be the best year. The driving experience is really hard to beat in any vehicle. IYKYK. So many have been downgraded with carburetors. I drove a 78 all over the US and back and forth to Alaska in the 1990s. Used it to start my business in Northern Minnesota where I drove it year round for several years. I jump started many a neighbors cars and trucks. Interesting point- a member of a new new bluegrass band in…”

“This is an amazing car, I remember seeing it at Nth Moto many years ago. Every S7 is special, but this one being modified to “11” by Nth Moto (probably the best bespoke high performance shop in the country) makes it even moreso. If anyone is hesitant about this being modified, don’t be. Whether it’s Viper, Ford GT, Lambo, etc anything Nth Moto touches turns out exceptional and their quality of work is better than OEM. Good luck with the auction, seller. Beautiful car.”

I remembered that Tom Matano was there with a De Tomaso I had never seen. In recent years, I’ve been trying to remember what it was. Thanks for solving my dilemma! I remember it as being small.”

Something I always missed as my father lived in Italy and camp was in the United States. well his father did indeed show up and riding a Vincent Black Shadow! I was by heritage a motor head already. Mine was not taken by first purchaser when it arrived at dealer. I had originally turned the allocation but took it. Early comments from an owner captures it. Slam second you better be hanging on and sitting foward. The only race I ever lost was to a Ferrari. Smoked him off the line. 120 I looked in the mirror. Too late, just then he blew by me like I was standing still. At 150 came around the next bend. He was just a red speck. Going around the next turn. Ah to be young. Slowly…”
