One of my best friends ordered a ‘63 Galaxie 500 XL Oxford Blue convertible with the 406/405 Tri-Power engine …By the time it arrived it had the new upgraded 427/425 Dual Quad engine..I can vividly remember the first time opening the hood and seeing those chrome valve covers marked 427-T ….I believe the “T” was for transistor ignition.
The ‘63 Galaxie has always been my favorite Ford, especially the
“R” code Fastback version.”

“I am the previous of this car and I knew the engineer that built the car. The builder was a very talented engineer and sadly he passed away. I knew the car and I bought it from his estate. The car is a blast to drive and I will miss it. The only reason I have for selling it is that I am getting old and I still have a bucket list of cars that I would like to own before it is too late. I am sure that the new owner of this car will get a lot of enjoyment out of it.”

“My wife & I got married in July 1978. We packed her little red Chevette to the hilt with all of our wedding gifts and drove from Chicago to Houston with only gas stops along the way. Took us 24 hours! After a few years the drivers floor pan rusted through. A sheet of 3/8 plywood cut to size fixed that. It was no longer the Fred Flintstone mobile! “I have this near identical car. Patina’d sahara, warmed over M10, goldish wheels, mint interior, same rust spots, and even the same roof rack. Out of my small fleet, this one gives me more smiles per gallon than the rest.
Having an engine done by Korman is a real nice bonus. Ray has a great shop and is a top tier engine and restoration shop. Hopefully the next new owner can show it off at At The Vintage event in Maggie Valley this weekend.”
