“I was a dispatcher at Greyhound in the 80s just after the last Buffalos were retired. One thing you used to see in ads for used buses was “Never a Greyhound,” meant to say it was never thrashed in daily Dog service and probably wouldn’t have chicken bones shoved into all the heater outlets. “Fun memory. I purchased a very clean, low milage `64 Galaxie 500XL
R-Code 427 4 speed when I returned from Vietnam in `67.
Paid $1700, 59 years ago, when these were just very nice “Used Cars”.
Now, these survivors are the best of the full size “Muscle Cars” extant.”

“I did the rear disc conversion on this truck many years ago. It was done using front hubs (bolt right on) and RRC /DI rear rotors and calipers. I never liked the way Land Rover cheaped out on the factory rear Salisbury disc setup by using the narrow drive flanges with short splines that strip out easily and short spindles with narrow spaced bearings… That’s why I used to do it this way, retaining the far better wide drive flanges and longer axle spline engagement, with wet splines.
