“Lovely car! Had a Crown 327/350 while in college in NJ in early 70’s; ran 12.22 at Raceway Park, much faster than most muscle cars. Had Greenbriar 3.89 gears. Yep, finally blew the rear end. Ran smallish rear tires to limit traction. would take a friend out for a drive w/o the back cover in – most not accustomed to red hot headers and the noise a solid lifter V-8 makes. LOL. 50+ years later now drive a R8 – sort of similar but with massaging leather seats!! GLWTA!!”

“My favorite auction of the year.
My very first car was precisely this, but in tan and minus the Cragars. Served me well throughout college and for a cross-country drive to Southern California after college. Raced a Mazda RX-7 across approximately 100 miles of the desert Southwest, with my 10-speed bike strapped to the roof rack. I pulled away from him on the flat stretches and he caught and passed me in the mountain curves. Eventually my 440 needed gas and he didn’t. Good times.

“I think adding the Buick rally wheels was a great choice, especially with the white wall tires. They spice it up a bit without being obnoxious. I imagine that pulling the car cover over this beast would be quite a workout. For me, the only wagon more desirable than this would be a 1968 Olds Vista Cruiser.”

“A V10 Gated Gallardo is a big 12 year old goal for me to own. 12 year old me used to see the Gallardo all the time before the Huracan existed when I was in high school. “Anecdotally, I was told by the head of Porsche Museum (at the time) Dieter Labdsburger, that they took the Abarth to the wind tunnel and a standard 356, and found out that the Abarth, that they paid a lot of money for for further development in aerodynamics, was less aerodynamic than the stock version! I think this example is simply beautiful, tastefully done, and without the aerodynamic drag of the car it was trying to emulate…. but retaining the lovely engine lid. I will be watching….…”

“When I was a new pilot in a Navy Fighter Squadron, one of my favorite “older” Squadron mates used to have get togethers at his house. He had a bar in his kitchen /living room and at the end was his lucky ejection seat that he had used when he was an F-8 pilot. He had the seat built in and only HE was allowed to ever sit in that “lucky” seat! Good memories.”

“I’ve owned two of these. My first was a brand new fawn beige 283 4bbl that I drove 60,000 miles in three years. I had the dealer add GM seat belts. It was completely trouble free. Mine originally came with the spare tire tucked under the top well. About a year into it Chevrolet had a recall to move it to the right rear quarter panel are as this car shows. People were cutting the rear window and stealing the spare tires. I still have the original window sticker. A beautiful car.”
