A Look at new Local Partners in SC, MO, CA, and MD!

We’re always excited to add new shops into the Bring a Trailer Local Partners network. More and more, we’ve come to see the services of these trusted operations as an essential component of the BaT ecosystem, and so many sellers have enjoyed the advantages that professional preparation and representation can provide in an auction setting. It’s our goal to make it possible for anyone who wants to sell on Bring a Trailer to get the help they need to do it well, and our Local Partners have a proven track record demonstrating the transparency and engagement necessary to achieve successful results. We regularly update the Local Partners directory, so if you are a professional shop interested in becoming a Local Partner, please reach out to us at LocalPartners@bringatrailer.com.

Please welcome the newest additions to our Local Partner network!

Por4mance—Summerville, South Carolina

As their name might indicate, Por4mance specializes in German fare—but their services apply to every kind of enthusiast vehicle. The business is veteran-owned, and what began as a detailing operation quickly blossomed into a shop that now provides “comprehensive auction representation or assistance with professional photography, detailing, inspections, or vehicle preparation.” Interested? Coordinate a consultation with Por4mance through their Local Partner page.

World Class Motorcars—Chesterfield, Missouri

World Class Motorcars has been participating on the BaT platform for almost 10 years now, during which they’ve auctioned over 200 vehicles. They specialize in late-model luxury cars, and provide a full suite of preparation and representation services, as well as storage and transportation. Their full offering is detailed on their Local Partner page.

Genau Autowerks—Burlingame, California

Genau Autowerks has been a loyal Local Partner since the beginning. They’ve got more than a few success stories to their name, and Randy even chose them to auction his personal Lancia Delta Integrale to demonstrate the capabilities of the Local Partners program. Their new Burlingame location is their third facility to offer their legendary service and skill to BaT sellers around the Bay Area. The full range of services is detailed on their Local Partner page.

Group C Curation—Annapolis, Maryland

@GroupCCuration first became a Local Partner in April of this year, and they’ve already expanded from their Alexandria, Virginia location to a new facility in Annapolis, Maryland. The company also brought us the awesome Rennsport Collection back in May. They are true enthusiasts (and racers) who are confident enough in their work to subject it to the scrutiny of the Porsche Restoration Challenge, and their presentation and representation skills are top-notch. More details about Group C Curation can be seen on their Local Partner page.

Smith Volvo—San Luis Obispo, California

Smith Volvo is perhaps unique among BaT Local Partners in that they are housed in conjunction with a fully-operational Volvo franchise dealer and service department. But don’t be fooled by the name—their history on BaT shows that their auction experience runs far beyond Volvos, and they’ve put up over 200 listings here since they joined in 2018. Per their website, “great auction results start with great preparation. From professional detailing and mechanical service to high-quality photography and vehicle logistics, our team can help ensure your vehicle is presented at its very best when it goes live. Get in touch with Smith Volvo via their Local Partner page.

Big thanks to these new BaT Local Partners for stepping forward to help all sorts of interesting rides find new homes!

Understanding sludgo’s Mile Markers: Mile 224

A week ago I was in the TT and rolled up next to a biker sitting at a stoplight. Three in the afternoon and hotter than blazes here in mid-August southeast Idaho. He was riding solo on a late-model Fat Boy—black on black. Was wearing what Hog riders all seem to wear: an unbuttoned leather vest over a tattered black t-shirt, leather chaps over worn and torn black jeans and a set of scuffed and scarred steel-toed boots. No helmet, of course, just a do-rag, but I saw a beanie-cap strapped to his rear pillion rack—in case he had to go to Oregon, I supposed. His face was mostly hidden by a bristly salt-and-pepper grandpa beard and his eyes were shielded by mirrored wrap-around Terminator shades. His skin looked thick and weathered and was deeply tanned, so deep it took a moment for me to see his arms were slathered shoulder-to-wrist with an ornate selection of tattoos. Flames and skulls and dragons and tombstones inscribed with initials and dates and symbols I didn’t recognize. He noticed me noticing him and gave me a big tobacco-stained snaggle-toothed grin then flashed me the peace sign. I flashed him one back and the light went green and he twisted the throttle and dropped the clutch and roared off to parts unknown. And as I watched him disappear into the shimmering horizon, somewhere inside my head Steppenwolf suddenly started to play.

What to Know About this Week’s Weird and Wonderful—June 19, 2026

Much like the Emancipation Proclamation itself, the observance of Juneteenth has taken some time to catch on. We here at BaT have been observing the holiday for the past several years, but we got our work done early so as not to deprive you of this Weekly Weird and Wonderful feature. Today we’ve got a few bikes and boats, some rarefied fiberglass bodywork, a couple firsts, and an interesting last, among other things.

The DFW Car and Toy Museum Collection, Offered at No Reserve: A Practical Look

8/19 Update: nearly all of the cars from the massive DFW Toy and Museum Collection have gone live, many have already sold, and the seller has now added three more! Be on the lookout for a 1964 Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider, 1982 HMV FreeWay project car, and a 1961 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupe, which should post soon.
The DFW Car and Toy Museum is the largest of its kind in Texas, and being the largest anything in Texas is really saying something. Indeed, within their 150,000-square-foot facility, they host a collection of more than 200 cars and 3,000 toys. That said, everyone has their limits, and owner Ron Sturgeon has set a 200-car cap—notable because his museum has won 214 BaT auctions to date. To clear up some space in their ever-rotating lineup, the museum is now presenting this massive collection of 38 cars (and counting) on Bring a Trailer, most of which are BaT Alumni and all of which are being offered with no reserve!

    sludgos Mile Markers: Mile 227

I was thirteen. Over at my friend Rick’s house. Hanging with him and his ultra-cool older brother Nick in their basement on a lazy autumn sludgoville Saturday afternoon. We were playing foosball—two against one—when their mom decided it was snack time. Brought down three frosty bottles of Nesbitt’s orange soda and a serving-tray heaped with a pile of gooey Velveeta nachos nestled next to a blue Tupperware bowl filled with fresh homemade garden salsa. Spread everything out on the coffee table in front of the couch and we eagerly took our seats, attacking the munchables like ravenous badgers. Somewhere in the mix Nick had eaten his fill and casually got up from the couch and moseyed over to the closet. Opened it and pulled out a long, slender black case and a short, square black amplifier. Lickety-split he’d plugged the amp into the wall outlet and opened the case and there it was, an electric guitar—a purple metallic Flying V knockoff with a matching purple metallic headstock. He lifted it reverently from the case and put it on, adjusting its worn leather strap snugly around his back and left shoulder. Then he reached into the case again and pulled out a long curly cord. Popped one end of it into the amp and the other into the guitar then flipped a switch on top of the amp and it crackled to life. My world was about to change forever.
