A few of the comments that stood out to us yesterday:

“I flew back seat in one of these in Vietnam in 1969. On a flight from Phan Rang to Bao Loc, we were doing some low contour flying, and flushed out a huge tiger, which we chased down a clearing for several hundred yards, before it dived back into the jungle. “Wow! I watched the walk around video. Brings back memories from the Series 1 I bought new in 1970 just out of college, 08877. I recognized every little detail, like the seatbelt holder clips and engine wire wraps. The only thing missing is the smell of a new car, maybe that’s there too. Incredible. Unfortunately I sold mine a couple years ago on BAT. It has a good home and hopefully will be restored someday. This car should make it close to the all time highs for an auction.”

“Funny story – I was trying to find a correct new radiator cap for the TR4. I had gotten one from a British parts supplier, but it didn’t fit correctly. I grabbed my identical radiator from my project TR4 and went to the local parts stores to see what they had. Total strikeout. I went to Panda Express with TR4 radiator caps on my mind and got this fortune cookie. I immediately sent a picture of it to my wife saying “Looks like I’m getting another car!”.”

“Anyone buying an RX7 that’s been sitting for a long time should assume it needs apex seals unless proven otherwise. The dash and radio are lit up in some pics, so the car has electrical power. I’m guessing lack of power is the result of a few horses escaping the engine bay.
This FD is quite tempting. I have a few solutions for lack of power sitting in the corner of the shop ;)”

“I own a higher mileage AZ-1 just like this. It is awesome. Obviously the new owner will likely keep this stock, but upgrading the suspension to the Navic coilovers and adding a stiffer roll bar front and back dramatically changed the handling. It went from leaning SUV in the corners to go-kart. Just my 2 cents.”

“I had a new Pinto and within a year I found a deal on a proto turbocharger set-up from a well-known Detroit area tuner. It was comparatively crude to this one without an intercooler and lots of lag. But once it spooled up, it was pretty impressive. I recall keeping pace with a 340 Duster in 2nd and 3rd gear which had the other driver wondering “WTF?!” But the tubing to the intake was a long way from the relocated carburetor and in cold weather it was really hard to start because that long…”

“When I was about 12 years old, my Mom’s cousin had one of these. He would load me, my brother, and two other younger cousins in the back with the jumper seats in the closed position. As he fishtailed down the road, the four of us would slide around on that metal flooring – back and forth, back and forth smashing into each other and the sides. Laughing all the way!!!!!!!!
