“The Gumball Rally Cobra S/N 3243 had been stored for years until around 2013. Sitting next to it was a 289 Comp.Car. Both came back into the sunlight.

I have photos of CSX3243 in January of 2014 at the shop of an incredible Pebble Beach restoration mechanic and a dear friend.
Chuck Bail really did it right using Daytona Spyder’s, A/C Cobra’s and recording sounds with Parabolic mikes. There will never be another. Sold my Spyder and…”

It truly shows that you get it — understanding how much my dad and our family love this car and how much joy it’s brought us for more than 52 years. It’s clear you were able to see the car through my dad’s eyes.

    “OK let’s get serious here.
What a lot of us often don’t realize when we look at something like this is the enormous amount of time, engineering, design, and late night haunting representing thousands of hours by dedicated people to develop and refined a complete and functional performance car.
You are not just buying the parts to make cars, you’re buying an entire history of what it took to build the cars.
So…if you are contemplating building your own cars, this is an excellent way to…”

“I own both a Ghibli and a Daytona and although I really like the Daytona the Ghibli is my go to car for long drives or if I anticipate stop and go traffic. Both cars have beautiful lines. The Ghibli is more reliable and more user friendly. The steering wheel can be adjusted up/down and the seat back is adjustable. No such luck on the Daytona. This car has power steering while the Daytona feels like a truck at slow speed.

“I was a salesman at the Dodge dealership one block from Ferris motors 1968-1974. Our dealership was NOT a high-performance dealership like Ferris. In addition to selling the subject car here. Ferris also owned and raced the A990 sister car to Larry Griffith’s car but the Ferris car was an automatic called the torqueflite tornado. Ferris and Griffith often raced togather as a team.Ferris sold a lot of race cars for such a small dealership in the town of 5000 people. Previously he raceda couple…”

“Drag racing in the south in the 60’s I watched the advent of the lightweights. Lakeland Drag strip in Memphis had among others Herb McCandless aka Mr 4 Speed. I swear he could shift faster than an automatic! ! Car just shuttered when he slammed into gear. As I remember also circa 63 NHRA outlawed aluminum front caps? At the nationals people would tech and then go switch the entire front cap. NHRA got hip and would wait in staging area. With magnet in hand! Truth or consequence time!!”

“I worked at a Toyota dealership detailing cars when these came out. People hated the color back then! The dealership marked $5k off all of them on the windshield and had a $500 bonus commission for the salespeople if they could sell them. Now…it’s maybe the hardest color to come by and highly sought after. Interesting how things change.”

“Wow! What a lovely monster! Given there are more dirt roads than paved in Nevada and given the fact this truck has been driven 220K miles, it is obvious that whoever owned the truck loved it enough to take meticulously good care of it. I keep telling myself I don’t need a truck this big but every time I look at the photos I have this irrational desire to hit the “bid” button!”

The F1 drivers at the time said that he could have been a professional driver and he drove the Firebird during stunts (ex. J-Turns) better than the professionals, so they let him do it. Even with 2 bad knees.”
