BaT Auction Success Story: DeSoto Shopper Wagon Makes the Motor City Trek: A Practical Look

BaT member Govehillbill recently wrote in with an update on the 1967 Volvo 122S that he won in April 2025:
I recently purchased a 1967 Volvo 122S on Bring a Trailer. It was an unrestored, low-mileage, original car located in Oregon and had been an one-owner car until 2025. There were lots of pictures, and the seller was helpful answering my questions. Still, buying a vehicle sight unseen across the country was a challenge for me. Things went very smoothly after the auction, and I received the car about a week later.

BaT user Corvenza recently sold this 1955 Chevrolet 3100 Cameo on consignment to RiderCoach in an October 2025 BaT auction, and he wrote in with a heartfelt note about his experience connecting the truck with its new owner:

BaT member stephen844 recently wrote to us with some interesting history on the 1956 Volkswagen Beetle that he won from Beuk73 in a July 2025 BaT auction:

The car came with receipts and documentation as far back as its “Birth Certificate” and papers from all eight of its previous owners! There was a cool story to tell about it after researching, beginning with its original owners, Elizabeth Loring Keyes Burckmyer and Lawrence A. Burckmyer, Jr., who were both professors at Cornell University. Elizabeth was a talented artist who taught drawing courses there, and was a trained biologist who had many of her etchings published in books and scientific journals. In 1956, she went on sabbatical leave to tour Europe and ordered this 1956 Beetle from Wolfsburg to take delivery in the Netherlands.

Like many people, I was hooked on the Audi R8 when I saw it on the road for the first time in 2008. The body lines, the side blades, and the sound of its V10 were amazing. Over the years, I had dreamed of owning one, but life just didn’t align until recently. I’d been watching and bidding on cars on BaT for the last two years, but hadn’t made it to the “finish line” until a couple of months ago. I purchased a 2017 Plus coupe with 17k miles on it. To be honest, I had never driven one before the purchase, but I knew I’d love it.
