Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated 30 new e-buses in Gandhinagar under the PM-eBus Sewa scheme and travelled on one of them with state officials.

Operators replacing buses that are more than 15 years old will be eligible for ₹10 lakh in assistance towards a new bus, provided the replacement vehicle has a minimum seating capacity of 27 passengers.

Madhya Pradesh will roll out a new passenger bus network on September 25 under a PPP model, marking the return of state-backed services after over two decades.

Under the revised structure, commuters will now be able to travel for 30 days by paying the fare equivalent to 15 days, compared with the earlier requirement of paying for 18 days.

Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation has revised its pass structure, allowing 30-day travel at the cost of 15 days and reducing quarterly fares.

KSRTC seeks funding from institutions, firms and individuals to replace ageing buses and boost services, including in rural areas.

Both states aim to add new routes and expand services, especially across border districts, under their interstate transport pact.

Tamil Nadu has stopped issuing new permits for private buses to ease congestion caused by around 1,800 services operating from Koyambedu.
