The Gilmore Car Museum Collection, Offered at No Reserve: A Practical Look

With the occasion of this collection sale, we are excited to announce a new partnership with the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Michigan (on the heel of the Michigan mitten hand near Kalamazoo, for anyone curious). The museum features a collection of over 400 vehicles, and also hosts seven independent marque- and model-specific museums on their 90-acre campus. The Gilmore is focused primarily on American vehicles from the 20th Century, but their selection of vehicles changes over time, which is why they approached Bring a Trailer for this first collection sale. Here we have five American-made vehicles ranging from 1930 to 1973 that will be sold with no reserve, including Indycar team owner Jim Gilmore’s personal Cadillac Eldorado convertible. The Gilmore Car Museum is itself a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and proceeds from the auction, including the BaT buyer’s fee, will go toward the museum’s mission of preserving the history and heritage of the American automobile.

To preserve his legacy, the Block family established 43 Institute, a 501(C)(3) non-profit with a mission to provide scholarships, mentorship, and opportunities to “motivated misfits” like Ken whose paths in the world are anything but linear. To support 43i, a collection of Ken’s friends and family from the motorsports world have come together to offer an entire collection of once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and we’re honored that they’ve chosen to offer them on Bring a Trailer. These are no wine-and-cheese tours—they are bucket-list outings for those who have watched a Gymkhana or rally video and thought, “I wish I could do that.”

What to Know About the Porsche Paint-to-Sample Collection, from Wob Cars—Group 2 is Now Live!

The Porsche 911 has always been the exception to the rule of Resale Red. But then again, the 911—bug-eyed, rear-engined, and improbably configured as a 2+2—has long been the exception to nearly every sports car convention. Every generation manages to look good in almost any color we can perceive with our trichromatic rods and cones, and this is why the factory has been accommodating paint-to-sample requests since the 1960s. The program was formalized in the 1990s, and now offers an extended menu hundreds of colors deep. This latest collection from Wob consists of 16 991- and 992-generation cars finished in Paint-to-Sample schemes, many with additional options from the Special Wishes catalog.

The Carefully Curated Collection: Group 1, from Nostalgic Motoring Ltd. You Should Know

The Carefully Curated Collection is the fruit of four decades of collecting for the owner, a sometime concours judge who specialized in paint and bodywork during his professional career. The cars reflect his diverse tastes and include sports cars, GTs, and even prewar classics, all of American, British, and European manufacture. He states that drivability is of paramount importance to enjoying his collection—something we can get behind—and we’re looking forward to seeing videos of these automobiles in action. The collection will be presented in multiple groups by @plasticdr of Nostalgic Motoring Ltd., and the first auctions from Group 1 are now live on the site. Additional lots will be added shortly.

Our friends at Mohr Imports are proud to present the LeVett Collection, a group of 15 cars assembled over six decades that reflect the tastes of the late Dennis “Denny” LeVett, an entrepreneur, investor, hotelier, and dedicated automotive enthusiast perhaps best known on the Monterey Peninsula for partnering with entertainer Doris Day to preserve the Cypress Inn, a hub for artists, actors, and enthusiasts in Carmel-by-the-Sea. LeVett was a fixture at Monterey Car Week and deeply involved in Concours for a Cause. And many of his collection of red, Italian-leaning automobiles were regularly exercised up and down 17-Mile Drive on their way to more casual events over the years.

Understanding the GTO Collection, from 1600Veloce

This flock of Goats comes from @1600veloce, who has gathered a tidy quintet of well-outfitted first- and second-generation Pontiacs for us. The two first-generation GTOs are offered with no reserve, a tastefully modified ’65 convertible and a ’67 hardtop in an interesting and unusual color scheme. The second-generation offerings are all four-speed Ram Air cars from 1970 that have been refurbished and will run as Premium auctions: an Orbit Orange Judge Ram Air III convertible, a white Judge Ram Air III coupe, and a black Judge Ram Air IV coupe acting as the capstone of the collection. Auctions will begin on Monday, May 18, and links to the respective listings will be added as they go live.

What to Know About gruppe P, Part X from The Bond Group and Road Scholars

The Bond Group and Road Scholars are back together to bring us Round 10 of their impressive, ongoing Gruppe P Collection. This time around, the headlining act is a Grand Prix White Porsche 959 Sport—the first of the 29 track-oriented Sport variants that were produced to be auctioned on Bring a Trailer. At the other end of the spectrum is an example of Porsche’s slowest vehicle—a rare narrow-track Junior 108S vineyard tractor. Four Slate Grey cars form a subset of the collection, each with extensive history and desirable specs, and other highlights include a 1600 Super Speedster, a 356B Emory Outlaw, and a low-mileage 993 C2S in silver over black. That’s a broad overview—the specifics are much more interesting, so let’s get into them!

Here’s the Rennsport Collection, from Group C Curation

Over the years, Porsche has more or less laid claim to the term “rennsport,” but it simply refers to motorsport or “racing sport” in their native German. The Rennsport Collection, represented by BaT Local Partner Group C Curation, reappropriates the term in that broader sense, as it features eight late-model sports cars from one owner and his immediate family, all of which are inspired by racing in the grand European tradition. Porsches are not underrepresented, as they comprise more than half of the collection, and the pair of Ferraris and the Ford GT are models that squared off with contemporary 911s in various racing series.

Understanding the Stone Collection, from McDeeb

This collection of five pre- and post-war American vehicles comes to us from BaT seller @McDeeb. These automobiles have been together for a while; they were purchased as a lot by their current owner in 2018, and are now being auctioned individually as the Stone Collection. All were refurbished at different points under previous ownership, and the Ford pickup and Chevy sedan have been modernized. Each is being offered at no reserve.

The Skyline Collection, from 1600veloce — Explained

This handsome trio of Skylines comes to us from @1600veloce, and two were built and tuned by NISMO at their Omori factory. We spent decades waiting for the Skylines of the 1990s to hit their 25th birthday, and we’re happy to say that all of these have reached their maturation date and were imported into the US in 2025 and 2026. As with many Japanese tuner cars, their lists of special equipment and desirable modifications are seemingly endless, and there will be plenty of minutiae for the JDM-heads among us to obsess over at length. For now, we will provide but a preview—we don’t want anyone getting overstimulated.
