Question of the Week: What’s the Coolest Art Car?—WINNER’S UPDATE — Explained
WINNER’S ANNOUNCEMENT:
We’re back to announce the winner for our Question of the Week, where our victor will accept a $25 credit for a hat or T-shirt from the BaT Gear Store and the acclaim of their peers.
Our question this week was: What’s the coolest art car?
Thanks to everyone who chimed in! These kinds of questions typically invite perspectives from across the BaT community, and your responses certainly ran the gamut. Of course, we’re not the kind of art snobs who tell you what you should like, so this week’s winner goes to the nomination with the most likes—our People’s Choice! And that was from @IsAlwaystheAnswer, who nominated Janis Joplin’s hand-painted Porsche 356:
“Janis Joplin’s 1964 Porsche 356C her roadie, Dave Richards, painted it with a psychedelic mural called “The History of the Universe,” it is a rolling symbol of 1960s counterculture and individuality. It is art and a car. https://rmsothebys.com/auctions/ny15/lots/r105-1964-porsche-356-c-1600-sc-cabriolet-by-reutter/“
