Here’s baT Auction Success Story: Unleashing the Wolf
This Success Story comes to us from BaT member SRA59, who won this 2016 Wolf Racing Cars GB08 SM from jcarson72 in an August 2025 BaT auction:
When this BaT listing first appeared before me, it felt like fate. It was for a 2016 Wolf GB08 SM featuring a carbon-fiber tub, a sequential gearbox, and a look that screamed with purpose. The auction page was alive with dreamers and bench racers, but I wasn’t one of them—I was hunting for keeps. The final hour of bidding was a blur filled with heartbeats and refresh clicks. My palms were slick against the keyboard as the bidding climbed. The Wolf had lived its life on circuits I’d only watched online, but I could already envision it unloading under the Texas sun at MotorSport Ranch in Cresson, Texas. It was like hearing the starter drop the flag on a brand-new chapter of my life once the timer hit zero and the listing was marked “sold.”

The hauler backed up to the Track House garage just a week later. Even strapped down, the Wolf looked restless—a coiled animal ready to pounce. We rolled it into the garage beside our Formula Mazda. Its presence instantly changed the room, and its carbon-fiber monocoque looked like armor in the morning light.

The first shakedown run on the 1.7-mile course was cautious at first. I got a feel for the brakes, learned the aero, and listened for anything off. But by lap three, the car and I began speaking the same language. It was knife-sharp and fearless, darting through corners like it was built for this very stretch of Texas asphalt.
Two weeks later, it was time to put the Wolf to work at the NASA Texas Oktoberfest. By that Saturday afternoon, the stopwatch confirmed what my pulse already knew. A new TTU lap record of 1:10.19 was recorded, and two shiny new first-place trophies went into the collection.

Back in the paddock, as the sun bled orange across the garages Sunday evening, the Wolf sat ticking and cooling inside the Track House garage. I sat on the fender, helmet in hand, and let it sink in: the winning bid, the haul, the laps, and the record. The Wolf had found its new den, and I had just found a new way to chase the horizon.
