The votes are in! Each of our three finalists earned plenty of love from the BaT community, but it was the hilarious videos of @cbjeep‘s basketcase Porsche tripod that ran away with the voting and never looked back.
WINNER’S ANNOUNCEMENT:
The final votes are in, and the ninth running of the Success Story of the Year award has been our biggest one yet! It was off to the races, with @Bigmotorssmallcar’s 911S story taking an early lead and even weathering a brief upset by @Jinxi‘s tale on Sweet Pea the VW Bug. But in the end, the Transatlantic Sportomatic Triomphe secured the most votes, and is thus it is our winner for Success Story of the Year!

You showed up in droves to pick the 2025 Photo Gallery of the Year, and now we’re ready to announce our winner! The three finalists gave us some incredible scenery to enjoy, whether land, sea, or air. It’s worth noting that all of them are beautifully finished in shades of red, as well. We didn’t plan it that way! But let’s get on with it—the 2025 winner for Photo Gallery of the year is the stunning Maserati 200SI listed by @FantasyJunction!
We wish we didn’t have to announce a winner in this category, because all three are valued contributors to the site and possess minds that should be preserved for science. In the end, the Pontiacs prevailed by a good measure, and the award for 2025 goes to the Pontiff of Panchos, the Judge of Judges, the big boss of Bonnevilles—@BaronVonZeppelin
The votes are in! Out of some ~50,000 BaT auctions, you narrowed it down to three, then came back in droves to crown our winner. It was a close race, and less than 10 votes separated the top three contenders. But when the dust settled, the voice of the people was clear, and our winner for 2025 is The Flintstones Flintmobile-Style Golf Cart!

Every January, we like to celebrate the highlights of the previous year on BaT with our annual awards. “Right after getting out of the Army I sold cars at a Baltimore dealership. First car I ever sold was a beige 65 Impala. These cars had beautiful lines and looked great then and still do!”

“I love the early SHOs and had an 89, purchased in 92 while a young engineer at Ford. The car enthusiasts either had SHOs, fox body Mustangs or a Porsche (if you were willing to take the abuse from the neanderthal managers who were “only buy Ford” zealots). Once the first year gremlins were sorted, they were reliable (for a Ford) and perhaps the best all purpose sport sedan of the time. I love that Yamaha power plant and it is bulletproof, making sweet sweet sounds all the way to the little…”

“I worked at a Toyota dealership detailing cars when these came out. People hated the color back then! The dealership marked $5k off all of them on the windshield and had a $500 bonus commission for the salespeople if they could sell them. Now…it’s maybe the hardest color to come by and highly sought after. Interesting how things change.”

“Wow! What a lovely monster! Given there are more dirt roads than paved in Nevada and given the fact this truck has been driven 220K miles, it is obvious that whoever owned the truck loved it enough to take meticulously good care of it. I keep telling myself I don’t need a truck this big but every time I look at the photos I have this irrational desire to hit the “bid” button!”

“@200mph Garner actually drove while shooting the Grand Prix and in the Rockford Files. The F1 drivers at the time said that he could have been a professional driver and he drove the Firebird during stunts (ex. J-Turns) better than the professionals, so they let him do it. Even with 2 bad knees.”
