This week we asked you what car had the best brochure of all time? Normally, being bombarded with sales collateral isn’t an experience we’d sign up for voluntarily, but the brochures you shared had us thoroughly delighted from start to finish.

Yep. That is certifiably awesome. Let’s take a look at more of the more great brochures that surfaced this week.

Bruce McCall’s Bulgemobile saw many different iterations, each as absurd as the last—they’re terrific fun. We got lost in them for a good 20 minutes while searching for images to include here.

@Fleche_dOr clued us in to this piece for the Porsche 917. It was so cool we had to share it in its entirety.

Pieces like this prove that there’s no substitute for a paper brochure you can hold in your hands. We’ll wrap it up with this cool BMW brochure from @02rc51

Welcome to the BaT Question of the Week! For those unfamiliar, here are the rules: we ask an automotive-themed question, and the author of our favorite answer from the comments is awarded a $25 credit to the BaT Gear Store.

This week’s question is: What car had the best brochure of all time?

These leaflets of automotive ephemera originally began with one central purpose: to sell. But like most products of a bygone era, they start to reflect greater meaning as the years go on. They give us a window into the minds of consumers and automakers from decades past, and they’re often just plain beautiful to look at.

Some were straight to the point, with no superlatives jumping back at you, while others were works of art like the sample taken from the 1964 Mercury brochure above. Some, like the Porsche “Special Wishes” brochure below, have probably become rarer than the cars they depict.

With the help of other enthusiasts, Hans Tore Tangerud of Norway has impressively squirreled away hundreds if not thousands of brochures on his blog—Love To Accelerate. We encourage perusing his site in case you need some more examples.
