“I worked for AMC/Renault during development of this vehicle. Renault engineers would trailer them out to MIS (where I worked) and we would run top speed over and over and over after component and tuning changes. I don’t recall the top speed. I do remember that they would huddle around and discuss the current results and then ask us to make a change – then they would look at me and say, ‘encore, s’il vous plait”. It was a dirty job but someone had to do it.”

“I’m an avid Toyota & 100 series enthusiast and owner since new. I bought an 03 LC new & traded it in for an 06 LX and never looked back. The VVT was a big improvement for me. The 06 & 07 are by far the most desirable and the ones you want to buy. The LX has a much more luxurious feel and is better insulated, no doubt about it. It is very easy to tell if these cars were neglected or cared for and this is the best one I’ve ever seen. GLWS”

“This is the car that convinced me just why fulvias were rally champions. Having known the owner for a while you can rest assured that this particular example was treated with both love and care.
Having had a chance to drive it down a curvy road or two, it’s mechanically perfect and just a hoot to drive as well.

“Any compact two door wagon is cool in its own right and being a Stude ensures it’ll be the only one anywhere it goes. What’s most unique and exciting about this rarity though is the engine build. I had no idea there was an array of speed equipment for the flathead six, particularly to the level of a high compression aluminum head. Reading the attached Cathcart article (from 1999!) suggests at least 140HP from this little 169ci flattie. It’s got to be a light car, I’m guessing under 3K lbs…”
